I am a woman and have some insight into toxic women. An insight men don't have. I also don't plan on dating divorced men who initiated their divorce for the same reasons.

Actually, I'm a woman! Interested in men. (Just so sick of people discarding their spouses)

For future dating avoid divorced women that initiated their own divorce (except for cases like DV or cheating) because they'll find an issue with you down the road. Dating only: Never been married, widows, divorced women that were walked out on, cheated on, or were DV victims. Dating never: Initiated their divorce because he wasn't Ryan Gosling from the Notebook, was bored, he didn't meet enough of her needs, feelings changed, etc. I saw something on the divorce subreddit of a 29 year old woman …

Wait your wife is a doctor? If so she's paying you alimony for a while.....

I'm sorry you are going through this. I'm a woman and my husband cheated on me and asked to divorce. I gotta be honest with you, you and nearly all men have a wider dating pool than these women divorcing you guys since men tend to date their age and down and women tend to date their age and up. You will have more dating options and have ones that come with less baggage compared to these women that have midlife crisis and walk out

Yeah I think it's pretty standard reaching out to the AP spouse, she should know the truth. Do you share with close friends and family?

I'm a woman, I'm in divorcecare, it's a support group and has been amazing for me to help with healing.

I see you are not married in previous post. You will only have a custody arrangement unless in a common law marriage state

I'm sorry to hear that she is resistant to all this :( would she be up for a vacation get away just the two of you? A lot cheaper than a divorce and sometimes more fun than therapy to try to reconnect. Even make her plan it to put the effort in?

Do you think shes been talking to another guy prior?

Sorry to hear that, I'm in a divorce support group and it's helping and just started individual therapy. I'm only three months out but doing so much better than several weeks ago. Also, a lot of women will have sympathy for you when you are healed from this and the divorce gets finalized

Just saw another post where someone says "has anyone left the marriage of a good man?" And wants to be "happier", and everyone there is supporting her. Sigh, why did the universe give women amazing guys they just toss aside and I got a husband that walked out on me

It's not him, it's the women saying it in the group that's triggering me because he obviously grieved during the marriage too (contacting a divorce lawyer while I was pregnant and I was very unaware)

Man I'm so sorry, when you get back to dating I think you'll have a lot of women that are empathetic to your situation, also I feel like men always have a wide dating pool compared to women as they get older too

Did you move on? Have a better life?

I do find it morally wrong to grieve the marriage during it since I consider it deceptive to the other spouse. To me, this is a major form of deception

What about when theyre adults. They're going to be super curious and have lots of questions

My husband just stonewalled me and withdrew emotionally and sexually when I would try to physically and emotionally reach out. Just checked out when I was trying to connect =\

Yes I believe each person has things they can work on and improve the marriage but I don't believe they deserve being walked out on. Even long lasting marriages each party has something they can improve upon

What is walk away wife syndrome
/r/Divorce_Men07/10/25 04:42 PM

So the upsetting part is when one party decides the marriage is over in their own mind but continues to be married, they decide to not put in effort and get ready to move on, lots of times these people don't tell this to the other spouse and just randomly leaves the other person, leaving them (the other spouse) blindsided and hurt. It also feels deceptive to move on and mourn it while in the marriage when the other person doesn't know, majorly deceptive and a major character issue in my perspect…

It's offensive to move on in the middle of the marriage when the other person was unaware and blindsided, I guess for me at least 💔

I thought women typically walk out more than men? Edit: just went to divorced women and the first post I read was about a woman getting ready to blindside her husband of thirty years and how to deal with the guilt....so not for me 😂

Wow. You sound really well off financially, I know this is very superficial to say this but you will have no problem picking up more women, I'm sure they will flock to you, just gotta be careful and weed them out Men=like pretty women Women=like money

That's messed up she said that. She decided to not own the marriage vows if she emotionally decided it was over while married before you even knew! Ughh I'm so sorry, hope you meet an amazing woman!

Did you share about the AP. Part of me was wondering if I should keep the divorce reasons private (all of the cheating and walking out on me) but he was lying to lots of people, told one of our friends our decision to get divorced was "mutual" so I started sharing the cheating

Honestly, if you to get divorced and might find a new woman to marry, you very well might be in the same situation all over again. They're super attractive when you guys meet but when you guys get married they stop putting in effort. You never know. Women like to feel desired and sexy, so if you say things like "your hair looks so sexy down" or "you look so hot when you wear makeup" or "your legs look great after that long walk we took together", even offering to pick out outfits youd like on he…

Woman here, why not tell her how you like her to look? Say gentle stuff like I love it when you wear your hair down, you look amazing when you wear your makeup, I love it when you wear sundresses. Things like that. Women look their best before marriage or going through a divorce so if you choose to divorce her, she's going to ramp up her appearance fyi

There's never an excuse for cheating on your wife ever. Why did he cheat? Because he has low morals and values and doesn't respect his wife and family. Honestly, he had started doing it as soon as our first child was a baby, he didn't like family life (has made many comments about this) and enjoyed the adrenaline rush of getting tons of different women at once.

Definitely will not be doing any FWB situation, as my husband used me and discarded me, I'm not going to let another man use me sexually and discard me like that. Also, my husband had tons and tons of relationships in the marriage? This is completely okay for me to think about for the future and ask about when all of this is done. My husband was the trash parent, having affairs and going on fake business trips, going out to bars while I watch three kids by myself, not me.

Thank you, and I appreciate the men on here saying how it's important to not let yourself go appearance wise as women often hear the opposite from other women, encouraging them to embrace things like the no makeup look and shaming women that like to put themselves together

Woman here, this sounds like postpartum. How postpartum is she? Hormones and body changes are super severe. She should NOT be making any major life decisions during this period of her life

I found out about the cheating all at once, he walked out, the next week I reviewed the phone records and discovered all the cheating from the last two years. I tried to contact every single woman he was in phone contact with over the last few weeks and they filled me in on everything over the years, him saying he was single, stories he was telling them. So the cheating discovery over the years is brand new to me :( Yeah I'm hoping I still have a little time left after the divorce is finalized a…

Actually, I have a higher earning potential than my STBX and can pay for my own help. It's just an unfortunate situation where I get robbed of being in a happy healthy marriage because my husband walked away from his family and chose to cheat over and over again, I was completely burned by him

Thank you for your support. I'm hoping he will also learn that 3 kids with one so young is too much for other women too, but he hasn't learned that yet since most of these women don't know he has a family that he was cheating with.
