In college I was a member of a videogame club where some bullies used me some cheap laughs. But, being the social idiot I was, instead of leaving them I stayed because I cared more about their mission rather than the people. Then, after becoming the sysadmin and being unable to restore the server that broke down, I was kicked out by majority after a 4-year tenure. I was extremely pissed when I got noticed, mainly because they disrespected their own by-laws so they could get rid of me as "the vet…

My 2 cents after almost 3 years in the lifting biz, the last one being oly lifting: →Get proper technique first with the empty bar (even if it is with a broomstick) and then, when you feel more confident, keep adding weight WHILE keeping proper form. This is the best way to become stronger and not getting injured. YouTube is a goldmine for how-to videos on compounds, but for the oly lifts, I'd recommend a proper coach. Breathing and bracing are important, especially when weight will eventually f…

I went from a "lone wolf commercial gym/basic fitness" training style to "still solo but doing a powerlifting routine" up to currently "competitive Olympic Weightlifting (OWL) with a team and a highly-competent coach" (with intentions to settle up here) in a short timespan. I have not been seriously injured (just a close call with my wrist that stopped me from snatching/wide OHP for a few weeks), but there's a reason for that: Our coach prioritizes that you dominate the technique for every exerc…

Using your hobbies as a framework, maybe you can frame them so that your motivation to do them is on yourself and not others. You can still lift in order to look good (or be stronger), your self-esteem..., your desire to compete so you can challenge yourself (though I'm not fond of bodybuilding competitions); you can read the books you want so you can learn something of your interest, learn new words/languages/refresh grammar/etc.; and you can meditate so you can work better, relax, reduce stres…

I always preferred songs based on the instrumentals rather than just the vocals as most people do, so maybe that's why my "core" music tastes (rock, metal, DnB, synthwave...) haven't changed that much.

I used to be that kid, and the issue is that he has such a boring life he sticks into whatever he has closest that screams "cool" in order to stick in. On top of that he has 0 self-awareness. That happened to me in my first semester at college – and thank God I learnt better, both with my then-classmates and a club I'd get kicked out 4 years later (in retrospective for the better; it had gone to shit, and still is). If he's such a nice guy, tell him that you want to be left alone because you wan…

I listen to lots of things, but I don't let the lyrics influence me too much. I like music by how it sounds instrumentally way more than I like it by what the singer does and/or the lyrics mean. I enjoy metal the most, more concretely doom/stoner, sludge, groove and death

In case she cheats on you? You don't lose your shit (as in dropping frame), but you don't let her disrespect you → dump and ghost her, or in a less extreme way (ymmv), demote to plate with no chance to be a LTR again.

Eventually of course, as the core is the same. That said, the moment TRP is the same moment everyone important here (read: ECs) will move on, decreasing the quality of future responses and so on.

The ban is not on the context of the media, but on the content. Those are two different things.

Their opinions mean shit. Also, your frame is fragile (in this case from women) as any external opinion is enough to break it.

Metal as main music. Currently binging stoner/sludge bands. That said, I am into some electronic genres suck as DnB, Big Beat or electro-rock. Lately have been playing too much Prodigy since I've heard that Keith Flynt died...

I meant the usual ones: twitter, facebook, instagram... Reddit? It is, by the definition of being a social network. Yet I've always seen it as the CostCo of forum sites. So... you've caught me.

Moderation depends on the context. For instance, 4 years ago I killed off my social media from one day to the other, and the first week was hard, but after then I had zero regrets and I didn't miss anything. Is vidya pointless? Only if you don't work directly on it (read: DEVELOPING games) or it can help you (if you want to be a race driver chances are you are playing a simracer to improve your skills at home). For social encounters it doesn't hurt to play a multiplayer game here and there. For …

Yeah, and ripped+bald >>> overweight+hair. No one chooses to have baldness (unless you shave because you want to), but whether you are ripped or fat well, those are your choices.

This is one of the first things in Rob Greene's Mastery... TBH I agree on some parts (I love cars and computers because I played/used them since I was a kid), but I disagree on others really hard (hated music because of school and thought I'd never become strong, 20 yrs later here I am, playing bass -which I couldn't care less until 2017- and hitting the gym hard). It's good to use as a guideline, but there's a shitton of hobbies in this world. You can do some research and set as a mission "get …

The average, yet that's not enough (the target is AT LEAST 20%). You can do that training for a year. 700kg/1500lbs? That's another story. And I barely reach 900lbs

Depends on what you start with. 11 years ago I got as a Xmas present an electric guitar due to that Guitar Hero craze, but I had a hard time getting through it because it was waaaaay more complex. I was 12 too, that didn't help, and had no life (life?) beyond vidya. I also fiddled around with the drums, but just enough to make some rhythms and that's it. Last year I switched to the bass, and I couldn't be happier. Look, at first I just learnt the easy stuff. Some punk/rock riffs, the usual stuff…

Stop seeking other's approval and being labeled: you are you, you can only control yourself, other's aren't even part of your domain. Who the fuck cares if someone calls you selfish/narcissist/egotistical? Let them hate you, it's free advertisement.

In linear order most of my laboral days go as follow; has room for improvement, IMO: Wake up, go to work, work, lunch, go to class, gym/continue assignments (depends if it's gym day or rest day), go back home, relax, dinner, sleep. Work is 4h/day, classes are usually 2h day, gym/assigments another 2. Most of my commutes are listening to music, reading non-fic or both. Mostly music, must admit. On relax I either play bass, games or socialize( if possible). Unless there are deadlines/exams, of cou…

In general, anything whose lyrics don't rely on women (or men who've been torn apart by women) but mostly on being at the top and its instrumentals are not comfortable for most people's standards. Which songs/artists would make the cut? →Death Grips: Beware is IMO the definitive badass song ("I am the beast I worship"). →Pretty much any gangsta rap band: bonus points if the artist is dead or the band disbanded. 2pac, NWA... Not a fan of those, you just know them. →Metal and rock is a complicated…

"The lines have gotten very tight on our brand of male support. A woman you approach can easily 'feel threatened' and cow to you and later file a harassment report." Learn that the hard way last week. Went to an event (not job related), got IOIs like crazy from a girl (never happened to me, so I had a chance to exploit that), but I went too aggressive and failed to k-close. Later on she "felt uncomfortable", staff listened only to her story and chose to kick me out of the event, no questions ask…

Then you are emotionally invested on the opinions of other people. Who the fuck cares, lift harder (you do machines only, with SBD..?), build yourself into a better person, and they will become the losers. You'd rather meet new people outside school if you can. That said, what about your body language? What you say to people? Voice tonality? These could help you find the root of your social problems.

No it isn't. Basically you can speak to lots and lots of people in the streets, some can't/won't want to do it (they may be busy, won't find you attractive or would rather be alone) but someone will surely take their time to talk to you. That said, if you are not interesting/attractive (as in, charismatic) enough, you'll have a bad time creating new relationships. You are showing textbook scarcity: forget about that girl and talk to 10, 100, 1000... more, you won't regret it. Also, iirc one of R…

It's also important to join the good club. I'm still in college, but instead of frats there are clubs; when I was a freshman I joined the gamedev club, and it turned out most of the time I wasn't doing that; just fucking around and playing games, having lunch, chatting to others and... well... that's it. A club named "Fuckarounditis Club" would do the job better. So, I left it (there was a brief crisis there which helped me do that, though). Would rather use that time to lift and study than ""ma…
