I feel you man. I’ve got childhood shit I’m working on too. We’ll get there. One day at a time. And yeah, the woman thing isn’t something you mentioned, but I just mean for you to make yourself no less of a priority than you would someone you were romantically interested in. If your dream girl, 10,000/10 was available for a date, you’d make it happen even if money or time was tight. My man, you’re the 10,000/10.

Put your phone away dude. You acknowledge that the scrolling is killing you. Plan a trip for yourself. Even if it’s just a day. Plan an activity. Give yourself something to look forward to. Why do you have to have a woman to do these sorts of things? Don’t you love yourself enough to go do the things that would make you happy?

Social media, pop culture, and other people who are consuming the same social media and pop culture. It seems like there’s a manual because you’re swimming in it at all times.

Definitely agree that it's best to not know all the details. That saying "ignorance is bliss" has been around for a little while now and while I can't say for sure if I'll ever get to "bliss" I can definitely get to peace. Having those details isn't ever gonna bring peace.

13 years of life together is being just thrown away. You didn't do that though. Break down, then build yourself up. Repeat. Take care of yourself. Stop worrying about someone who threw away so much life. Time to live.

What I’m starting to sense is that there are a growing number of therapists who just function as “pay me to get validation” schemes.

Shit, I wish she was fucking somebody else, then maybe she wouldn’t be so miserable when I do have to deal with her 🤣

No reason to go off on her again, it’s just another thing you’re giving her to use against you. It sounds like the time for talking is over, it’s time for you to start acting.

Stop arguing with her. No more pleading. No more fighting. State your needs and ask how you as a couple are going to work together to get them met. From your post, your needs are: 1. A partner who values their mental health enough to get help when they need it. 2. Physical intimacy and connection with your partner. You need to come out of this conversation with a commitment and a plan of action. Either a commitment to act together to address her debilitating anxiety and your lack of intimacy as …

How is fucking her money up going to work out in you or your kid’s best interest? I get the anger, I get that they’re leaving themselves vulnerable to retaliation and you’ve got a clean shot, but you might just be shooting yourself in the foot by doing this.

Don’t compromise yourself man. You know what you wanted in life when you entered your marriage. Don’t change now that you’re getting ready to exit your marriage.

I unfortunately have to agree with you. I just don’t think it works in the modern context - too many voices supporting walking away, too many incentives for doing so, not to mention the fact that staying married is hard work and requires people to give a fuck. Much easier to cut and run, take the kids and money when you do and get tons of attention, validation, and support in the process. I’m not sure what a healthy relationship with a woman would even look like, or what the point would be in tr…

I’m 31, got married at 25 to a woman I’d been with since I was your age. Here is what that relationship did for me, positive and negative. Positive: you’re never going to be lonely Negative: you’re going to be doing a lot of shit you don’t want to be doing Positive: sex is going to be pretty easy to come by (for a while) Negative: it is going to become less and less satisfying unless you maintain it with the same fierceness that you would an active dating life with multiple women. the positive b…

That’s a good thing to do, brother. Giving back and being thankful for what you’ve got in your own life is something we could all do more of. Keep your head up man, I know it isn’t easy.

Do whatever you want man. This can be as freeing or as soul crushing as you want it to be.

I don’t have kids and I don’t have divorced parents, but I do know what it’s like feeling like a failure and feeling that guilt. It takes two to make this work. It isn’t all on you. And you haven’t failed your boys. You’re still their dad and always will be, as long as you keep trying to be there for them. Never give up. Accept that this is happening, and at least the tension and arguments in the home can stop affecting them. It won’t be easy on any of you. I’m sorry you’re having to go through …

It takes two man. You’re not a failure. Stop identifying with it. This is just one thing that’s happening in your life. It isn’t a representation of you in any way. If you want to take some responsibility, that’s one thing. We all have some responsibility. But be fair to yourself too. This isn’t you. It’s something you’re going through. It doesn’t make you. You have a marriage that is heading for divorce. There is nothing right or wrong about that. It’s an event, a marker in time. A season of yo…

Put down the drinking and get away from the women for a while. Give it a year or something man. Not good for you right now.
