The reason this issue is ignored is because policing is disproportionately male. Hence, a “it’s men doing it to other men” argument is often formed. Obviously, this argument is extremely weak, as that doesn’t legitimately invalidate the disproportionate rate men experience police brutality. IMHO, that is only part of what they do. They have advocated for good things. They have also tried to erase male victims as well. It’s pretty complex because of feminism’s broad range of beliefs and advocacy. Heck, feminism is now trying to tackle racism, homophobia, ableism, nazism, and fascism. (no complaints here) But by doing this, they can point to all these types of bigotry and claim oppression against women. Idk honestly if I’m right tho, I will think more about this.

When I called myself feminist in the past, I did not hold those repugnant views. While many feminists do, others hold far more egalitarian ideals. I agree. But would it be wrong to claim this is a women’s issue? (Devils advocate here, not trolling) Because of how it disproportionally affected girls? There is a point I do want to make… in my opinion there should be no single movement fighting against gender inequality. One movement should focus on men’s rights and one movement should focus on women’s rights. Otherwise we get what happened to feminism which claims to be for gender equality but effectively only fights for women. We can connect and collaborate a bit, but feminism and men’s rights in my opinion should be separate. What do you think?

Well, is egalitarian fighting for both genders or could it be fighting for one gender’s issues specifically like we do with men and masculinity? There are ones who do. I started out as a feminist and then left, but I still hold the same values of gender equality as when I was as feminist. I just found feminism wasn’t for gender equality, which was key to my values. Many who consider themselves feminists do believe in gender equality. They are simply unaware of men’s issues and hence see gender equality as a one way street.

If you continually reduce them, they will be lower because they are reduced. Parental wealth is the largest indicator of success because the other indicators were eliminated. It’s almost impossible to eliminate all indicators, but we try to reduce most of their effects.

I’m a white guy, I see my white privilege. Occasionally I’ll notice I’m more cautious around someone who’s black. I try to catch myself doing it. I’ll chastise myself in my head, and start over. I’ll relax, and remember my privilege. I try my best. There are many more ways like this that I see my white privilege. But I’m also a dude and I rarely see my male privilege.

I'd like to express that I respectfully disagree with your title. In my opinion, you can advocate for women without necessarily having to advocate for men, but if you want to advocate for gender equality, you have to advocate for both since both have unique issues. Bruh it’s because men are expected to get 6 figures and hence must work the dangerous, long, college-degree required occupations. High paying jobs are usually not the most fulfilling and rewarding work, like childcare or teaching. Many women (definitely not all tho, maybe a slight majority idk) want a well-off breadwinner. So men go into these occupations.
