Q4A: Why did you break up with your first adult bf/gf? (Adult because I’m trying to filter out middle/high school relationships)
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/23 02:09 AM

I asked the question and was pretty surprised by how many said yes. Prior to lurking on this sub I would have assumed that 95% of men would say yes. In fact, many of my more successful friends won’t consider dating a woman unless she meets an income threshold similar to theirs. (It’s usually slightly higher if she’s older than them or lower if she’s younger) But after being here for a bit I assumed that the sample here would be more 50/50

Yes

Bay Area and not very common due to the weather. I think climate makes a huge difference. In Croatia I basically lived in a bikini because it was so hot and we were jumping in and out of the water so frequently. In hot city settings like CDMX or Nice I’m in mini skirts and sun dresses. In colder climates it’s jeans and sweaters. Most of the girls I see are wearing similar depending on locations/weather

Yeah and I make well into 6 figures myself at 24. I’m not worried about making enough money for a great life. Why would I give up the men closer to my age who make excellent money, are very attractive, and want a ltr for a man who makes a bit more money but is old and unattractive with declining fertility?

If they don’t look bad now then who says they won’t look bad when they are 80? As people age they tend to look less attractive. Men start balding, gain weight, wrinkles, weird hair on their back, etc. the downward slide tends to start in their early 30s imo I’m have yet to meet a 35 year old man that I’m attracted to in real life. Plenty of men in their 20s who hit all of my needs/wants in a partner so why would I give those men up for something I perceive to be worse?

If she takes the kids 100% of the time. Then yeah. Say you make the same salary but she’s taking care of the kids, paying for their needs, schooling, etc. It makes sense that you’d be expected to help cover that. They are your kids too

I got my little sister a nice perfume for Christmas and it went over well. It was her first one and I knew she loved the scent because I’d catch her “borrowing” it whenever I came to visit :)

None. The woman is then the one who takes on the financial risk. Only potential is if you have kids and she gets full custody. You’d still have to pay some child support as a proportion of your income.

Wayyy overdone imo. But I also don’t really like floral scents so I’m biased

I 1000% agree with you. If I can smell your perfume across the room then something’s wrong and it’s distracting

My favorite right now for both men and women is Santal 33. Definitely leans more masculine. I met a guy who was wearing it a few years ago and it legit made me do a double take. (We ended up dating for a bit lol) I just barely switched back to it in the fall I got a bottle but I layer it so it’s more feminine.

If you’re confident about it then go ahead and pick one out. He can always exchange if he hates it and it’s more special

I work 30 a week and have an income in the top 1% for my age group. Work smarter not harder Also I’d only work 100 hours if I was building a startup for myself. Any job requiring that is not worth it

There’s a guy I knew in college. He’s tall but only just slightly overweight and I’d probably rate him as a 5. Very smart and he has an ok personality. Very traditionally minded. A little bland but nice enough. Maybe a bit of a “woe is me” vibe. Problem is he’d only go for the most attractive and sought after girls. Frankly they were just way out of his league and he refused to settle for anyone else. He once asked me out saying how much he liked me and all these specific things even though we h…

I think there’s a difference between being on the side of the invader vs the country being invaded. If Russia was actually trying to take over my hometown I’d join the fight. But I don’t get why anyone would want to die in a war that they don’t agree with or is silly to them Even the US didn’t join WWII until we were dragged into it with an attack on our soil

There’s other ways to help though. I took pictures of some of my more nerdy guy friends in college and edited dating app profiles. If a guy liked a girl and wanted to go on a double date, I’d double with another friend to go support him and make them look good. It really made a difference. I think some men get modern dating really naturally and others need a little help

Yeah we’re still friendly. He just lives in another country and I’m not willing to give up everything in my life and move

There was one guy I met that I liked but didn’t pursue due to the circumstances at the time. I wouldn’t classify it as “the one that got away” it just could have been a fun relationship Otherwise every relationship I’ve been in is an improvement from the last. What’s the point if it’s not?

How long do you usually date someone before you commit to a relationship?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/01/23 01:19 AM

Sometimes I think social media has something to do with it. Like the average man may be happy in their own little bubble but then they are constantly seeing all these people post about unrealistic lifestyles and all the girls they are getting and suddenly they feel like they’re losers by comparison. They turn to people like Tate who claim to have some answers and sells the lifestyle they want. Obviously it’s probably a lot of things combined but wouldn’t be surprised if this is a factor as well

How do you guys define casual sex? Is it only when there’s no strings attached or emotional intimacy like a ONS? Or is it just anything outside a committed relationship? Like if two people are dating consistently and on the way to a relationship but have sex before it’s official.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/01/23 12:26 AM

Is there a difference between casual sex and sex outside or a relationship though? The former seems more like a ONS or FWB while the latter could also mean you’re dating someone for a few months and it’s on the way to a relationship kind of sex

I used to be Mormon too and I have family living in that area. It’s all everyone has been talking about the last few days and how perfectly nice and normal the whole family seemed and how shocked everyone is. It’s disturbing and heartbreaking

Yeah that makes sense. Maybe also from a fertility standpoint as well. Like a 25 year old over a more attractive 35 year old makes sense if you want a relationship that leads to having kids

I’m confident they were. And this is just 4 instances out of many that have happened over the past year. I don’t think the majority of men want teenage girls I’ve always just assumed that men prefer younger women because they tend to look better on average. (A 20 year old is probably better looking than a 30 year old on average). I was surprised that for some people it may be the actual age. But like my other comment, I don’t know for sure if it was the age thing that turned them off. With these…

Thank you! And don’t worry! This doesn’t impact my self esteem. If anything I realize I may have dodged a bullet. More just surprised that the age thing was a turnoff when the men approaching were my age or older And you’re right! It totally could have been something else and I misread the situation. I normally avoid giving my number out to random people or will lie and say I have a bf to let people down easier. So they may have just realized I may not be interested at that point in the convo an…

Yeah I definitely feel like I’m dodging bullets with these guys. One guy followed me out of a grocery store trying to get my number and looked 35. It was when I was 22 too so I looked even younger. Something about it kinda creeped me out

Omg twins! Hope looking super young now just means we’ll still look hot when we’re 35 😝

It’s pretty well known that men find younger women more attractive. Is it because they look better or because they are actually young? I’m 24 but have been confused for an 18/19 year old a lot. My little sister and I get asked if we are twins and she’s 19 I’m asking because I’ve noticed a few times men will approach me in public and flirt a bit, ask for my number, etc. and then they usually ask how old I am. When I say 24 it sometimes goes like “wow you look younger than that” and then some of t…

I mean I don’t know any women who would date a man accused of sexual assault

You can’t expect people to show you respect if you aren’t respecting their boundaries as well. Hard to get to know someone at all when they are overtly sexual and disrespectful of boundaries. From what you’ve written you suggest you could respect their boundaries but refuse to
