I got told I was "dismissing women's experiences" and "unwilling to look at myself" because I disagreed with a woman who was asserting that most/all men are rapists. Apparently the only two types of men are rapists who don't know they're rapists and rapists who do.

I love this one because you're exactly right; starting with about the millennial generation, women have been taught by media what they deserve/what to expect from prince charming, while having no expectations or requirements put on them. And it shows. It really shows.

There are always cultural villains because hate is natural and it takes a lot of self development to overcome hate entirely. Most people engage in very little self development, so they need someone to hate. In the past there's always been an enemy or minority to target. As popular support for wars plummets we see hate seeping through in old groups (racism, misogyny) and new groups (misandry). There's no cultural shame associated with hating men yet, so it's a safe and socially acceptable target …

It's just another latent murder fantasy. I've seen women talk about wishing, wanting, or helping men die a lot, but as long as there's not genuine documented androcide they'll play it off as harmless. Just like any other demographic death threats.

That's not what the group is for. Put another way, if women created and attended a group about female violence against men, we wouldn't automatically assume they don't care about male violence against women, right?

This doesn't really seem like misandry. It has the potential, and we might guess what kinds of people will be involved, but it's not explicitly problematic imo. You can talk about "the patriarchy" without beating yourself up, and you can talk about "female violence" and how society can address it without thinking you are somehow personally responsible. Worth giving the benefit of the doubt.

Yes, but there's trans men too that, once they pass, they realize everything that comes with being a man. There's no one size fits all experience but we can choose to focus on the good.

A lot of trans people are uniquely qualified to talk about the male experience. Maybe that's partially why a lot of women are TERFs; misandry gets blurry when you cross the gender gap.
