People think that almost all DV victims are women but that’s only true in the most severe cases like Ray Rice’s gf getting beaten to a bloody pulp, because men are stronger than women so they inflict more damage. In the less extreme (majority of cases) it’s about equal. Btw this is very heartbreaking as my friend’s girlfriend tried to rape him and he didn’t get justice because apparently all men want sex all the time and why would they say no to it

The lifetime prevalence rate doesn’t care how many times you attempted. Someone who attempted once gets the “suicide victim” label as much as someone who has attempted 100 times. 7% of women and 3% of men have attempted at least once in their lives and even if all the male survivors went and did it 30000 times without dying it wouldn’t change.

The wage gap is due to career choices, within industries women make 93 cents on a man’s dollar, not 77. 1 in 5 women get sexually assaulted in college but that’s mainly because of perverted men groping etc not rape. For rape or similarly severe sexual abuse it’s 1 in 50 chance or 4-7% over a lifetime. There are surveys showing that 1 in 15 women and 1 in 30 men attempt suicide in their lifetime.

The equivalent would be removing the clitoral hood. I know someone who is missing that body part because of something she did during a schizophrenic episode. The 7% wage gap makes sense because we often take off 1-5 years per child and our husbands/boyfriends only miss a few days to help us right after the birth. The more work experience you have the more you get paid. Also we’re biologically weaker because of lower muscle mass etc so we usually don’t do physically intensive jobs which pay more.

Well yeah, a high percentage of women take 1-4 years off, per child. And usually during our peak career building years (for me I plan on one kid at 26 and another at 29, I’m guessing it’s the same for most women). Also we don’t take on physically intensive jobs because most women are physically weaker than men even though we have other benefits like higher pain tolerance etc.
