Even if they know there are actually places they could go, there's usually something intangible keeping them where they are. Trust me, i know someone in the same exact boat as her, line for line. it's just sad to know that it's probably from mental illness, trauma, or something like that. at least that's the case for the lady i know. she's very whiny about medical problems, the pain and the meds she takes for it turn her into a zombie that rambles incoherently, and i think she has autism, or PTSD or some other mental illness that makes her unable to connect with people.
