100% as a transwoman myself, I agree with this and align heavily with this subreddits' views in general.

100%, like I'm still a male and I'm technically not someone who cares much about labels. But exactly, fk living for someone else, I dress how I like and I don't take on the 'masculine' role in relationships. I have to be strategic with how I present unfortunately because I still have conservative family. My relationships, tho straight technically, are egalitarian or kinda relationship anarchy. If more men stopped tolerating women using them, we'd be better off. It's much better to be single than…

Look, I agree and I don't hang around those toxic groups either, I am against misandry and call it out whenever I can. I think you're assuming a lot here. It's true that many queer individuals can be quite misandrist and I avoid them. The queer friends I have are actually more in line with fighting misandry and actually empathize with men's struggles because that's like 90% of the shit I vent about when it comes to social issues and politics. Actually most of them mostly present as cis/het men l…

As a male, I'll say what worked for me but this is in no way a suggestion, nor does it make sense for most men. A year ago, after my last breakup, I decided to actually embrace my feminine side instead of running away from it. This included genderfluid expression (some call cross dressing). I made a queer social media for my posts related to my genderfluid presentation and surprisingly made many friends in the queer community. Most friends are assigned male at birth (men who dress femininely, tr…

Yes, based on a 'protect women so they could safely do their role in the household' mentality. Like u said, it takes away agency from women and as a result they're treated like half children which comes with benefits of being 'protected' and drawbacks of being not allowed to do certain things. This takes lots of government control hence, systemic patriarchy. The government has to be a nanny state for women (which i dont agree with)

I disagree with the 'Conservatives don't believe in systemic structures'. Conservatives literally want systemic patriarchy and they do so in a way that men have agency and women have less so and should be 'protected'. The left isn't much better in this way but I see just as much 'protect women' rhetoric on the Conservative side as the left. It's all anti-men or male. The left is anti-men, the right is anti-male (because they include GNC males and trans women as males).

Yes in that sense, I support that. Men should be better in standing up for themselves and stop bending the knee to what society or women want from them. De-center women, stop giving a crap about what it means to be a 'real man' or being 'manly'/masculine. It's all bullshit. For example, in my life, I simply compare myself with women. If women are allowed to act a certain way or speak a certain way, I can too and if anyone has an issue, I give an example of a woman doing that and it usually shuts…

100% agree, as a male myself, I am very risk averse. In fact I am more risk averse than most females I have been in relationships with or interacted with. Especially in social situations, I am very much not a risk taker.

I think thats good, men need to de-center women and stop being influenced by their sexuality so much.

And he's blatantly incorrect. I've had several long term relationships and one marriage. I paid on the first few dates for ZERO of them. We split, and i told them I prefer to be treated out but I understand they want that too so we take turns. None of them worked out though because it is true that eventually, most women expect you to be an unpaid actor working overtime to contort yourself into rigid masculine roles and burn money on her. I will never bend the knee but I strategically use my half…

ShoeOnHead is alright but she's still into masculine acting men and values them over all other types of men. Honestly, at this point I'm just thinking to have kids from a surrogate and be a single dad and be open to date any woman that makes a first move but it usually doesn't last long because for many women, it is a deal breaker that I will not be comfortable assuming any aspects of the masculine role. I'd rather just stay single than remain in a relationship where my non-masculine traits are …

Because of internalized misandry. It's not your fault, we were all indoctrinated under the toxic gender ideology of 'males can't speak up about their vulnerability or else it is shameful'. I say eff that, speak out about all of this, loud and proud. Screw the gender ideology we were indoctrinated with, it only causes harm to us.

That's why it is our duty (those who know about this injustice), to put as much of our energy into empathic care for men.

Yes and include psychological tests for that too. E.g. Me as a male, I am actually far more sensitive to fear and get emotionally distressed (anxiety and depression) much easier than most women I know and have dated. They are typically my emotional rock. As a result, I think most women would be more fit for any army position than me because I'll just p*ssy out and crap my pants. I am unashamedly admitting that too, I'd be one of the biggest cowards lol

It's about principle though. If men have to sacrifice for war, then we need to either let women also sacrifice the same way, something different equivalently or give men something worth as much as their lives for putting their lives on the line. Even then, it's difficult to justify. What happened to my body, my choice?

Yea but it should apply to women too. Not like any man chose to be born male so why give them the responsibility?

Yeah it the mens role in our society sucks ass. Honestly, even if ppl think it's weird, I still say fuck em and wear what I like. Men's clothes are so boring and I have a more 'feminine' wardrobe as well which makes dressing up, so much fun. I'm lucky though because I have my own place and live in a progressive city so people may just think I'm gay or trans/non binary(I'm actually pretty much straight and have a girlfriend). I don't really mind being categorized as lgbtq because I'd get judged a…

Yeah it doesn't make any sense. As a man, I've always advocated for women to make the first move more often. I've been lucky to have been asked out and 'courted' before by women which always feels amazing and just so 'right' for me but it is quite rare unfortunately and most of the women that do that are usually not that physically attractive to me but it definitely makes up for that aspect as I am not suuper picky on looks. Idk what change is needed for women to make the first move more often. …

Yeah it's absolutely disgusting. Biggest turnoff is when a woman utters something related to wanting princess treatment... UNLESS... she's willing to give me princess or prince treatment. I literally can't be shamed, I'll straight up say that I also wanna be treated like a princess and pampered. I like flowers, jewelry, being treated out to nice restaurants too etc. If both partners treat each other like a princess, that would be 👌🏻

Also if that's the case, what was the reason for this whole chivalry bs? Was there a different reason?

Perhaps more authority then, honestly idk and as bad as today's world is, I'd still prefer to be in the west today where there's no war drafts and men who behave in a non-masculine way are judged a bit less than in times before and other places.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates14/11/25 01:21 AM

I'd like to agree with that because I feel the same way BUT never knew the reason why. I'll check that out. Well if this is the case, it's even more a reason to fight for male liberation. I'm 100% for men receiving zero judgement when doing or behaving in any way feminine and receiving the same protections as women like same jail sentences, same emotional support and same respect as parents or when taking care of children. I do my best by raising awareness to all those around me.

Yeah but if a womans way is the right way to go, why are men STILL shamed when they wear what society deems as feminine attire?
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates14/11/25 12:34 AM

I mean, like rights to vote, own property and also the woman having to obey and the man always having the final say on everything major. Men had more responsibility though so it was technically 'fair'. Especially due to men being forced against their will to sacrifice their lives and wellbeing for wars which is STILL happening. Yeah tbh it was never like men had it necessarily better, unless they were kings or noblemen.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates13/11/25 04:43 PM

100% chivalry only existed because men had more rights than women. Now that we have equal rights, there shouldn't be any special treatment period.

Despite your downvotes, I agree. I guess to put it in a way more people can understand, men need to stand up against discrimination against men who exhibit feminine traits. A simple example: a man wearing a dress, makeup and heels should be seen identically as a woman wearing a pants-suit and a tie. Logically, they are the same, but for some reason our society discriminates against men and tries to shame us into submission and control us so we become good little worker drones that are only allow…

1000000% I do my best to tell men around me to stop living for female validation. Like everyone needs to live their lives for themselves firstly, sounds selfish but you cannot expect to help others if you cannot even help yourself. Like we gotta let men know they gotta stop deciding how to behave, how to dress, what their career path is or who their friends are based on other people, this is ridiculous and ironically very un-masculine for those who care about that crap. Like idc about masculinit…

This is why we need to de-center women. I used to have that mentality of working hard so i can get women but it made me resentful and jealous of women leading to me being misogynist. I decided to pick a career for work/life balance and optimizing travelling and spending time with family and friends. Doing things I wanna do, regardless of whether I find the woman for me or not. This is what makes me the happiest. I work for me and if a woman comes in my life she's not gonna need to financially su…

As a man, I instinctually want to protect the people of MY family including male family members but towards adult strangers, i couldn't care less, male or female. I do feel protective over children though regardless of if i know them or not. So... Despite socialization and the pressure to perform a certain level of masculinity, I just don't feel protective over women i dont know. I don't feel happy paying for first dates or having any dynamic that is unequal, especially in the beginning. If I am…

Because of stupid socially constructed bs. As a male, Idgaf, actually anyone can call me anything, man, woman, weak, gay, p*ssy or whatever. The key is, I am not insecure, nor am I going to be a slave to anyone's opinions on how I should be an unpaid actor in their service. Screw that, I'm me and I don't answer to anyone about silly gendered expectations. I believe the best way to stop this bs is for all of us males to work on detaching our own ego and value to what society deems as masculinity.…

We need to encourage more women to approach men first then... It isn't that complicated. The issue is that many women still think that it is not socially acceptable for women to ask men out which we need to dismantle. Another way is to forcibly dismantle it by us guys never making the first move or only doing so after a woman shows obvious interest. Once enough women become desperate enough, maybe they'll start making the first moves and realise that it actually works better that way. Women maki…

Focusing on how restrictive the so called 'masculine gender role' is. I know many guys who have feminine sides or interests but are afraid to showcase it out of fear of judgement or even that they were taught that it's 'wrong' for a man to do feminine things or present more femininely. I also dislike the whole thing of roles, we need to nurture young men in a way that they feel most comfortable to pursue excellence in their own way, whether it's to be a software engineer, makeup artist, singer, …

As in, he wants to behave and engage in what comes more naturally for him that isn't harmful to others yet is treated as if it's bad. I feel the same way he does, tried the masculine performance, got lots of hookups with girls, was a big MAGA guy who followed red pill stuff. I was miserable though and was super insecure because that wasn't who I was. I actually ended up becoming misogynistic through feeling jealous of women in their ability to be allowed to just be and exist in their own unique …
