Me breathing is enough to piss her off. She nearly pushed me to the edge one night. I texted her the next morning telling her she didn't succeed, no life insurance for her, and a copy of my newly executed will specifically banning her from receiving any proceeds. In my funeral wishes I've stated that she and her family are not to attend, and if she does, the funeral is to be ceased immediately.

Be amicable. But set boundaries. We were pretty quick to set boundaries and parenting schedules. So if it was your weekend, you're free to do what we you want. But just be ready for the backlash if you move on. My ex wife was ok, we were friends, went out to dinner parties together with the kids etc. but as soon as she found out I was seeing someone, she became the most vituperative human being to ever walk the world - she basically had a mental breakdown seeing me date someone. The problem is y…

Yep. Met ex wife when we were 16. She left me at 38 (after a year of pointless marriage counselling where she didn't change a thing). I was always obese - but I had lost 72kgs (it's why my ex left me), was training for a triathalon - I was fit. From separation - 3.5 weeks first tinder date, ended up going for 3 nights of crazy s3x - 2 weeks later, met someone and we've been together 2 years. We've drifted apart recently (I realised I needed time to find me), but we're still looking after each ot…

I self represented against my ex wife's $800/h solicitor. I even got a cheeky wink to the senior registrar. I'm finally out, financially starting at zero, but her lawyer got referred to the law society for her unethical behaviour by the court registrar. Worth it!!! I also get to keep the proceeds of my other litigation proceeds - circa $2.4m vs she got $300k. I gave her every opportunity to join me in the litigation but she wanted cash now. Cool

No he didn't. They found out through word of mouth he has a grandson. They've reached out, but the trauma of being abandoned / abused my the mother has essentially cut the entire relationship. I have two dads in a similar situation

I had a guys group that we'd all grown up together (and know my exwife as she also went to school with us). We all met in high school and are still friends at 40. Sucks because the wives (initially) believed my ex wife on all her stories and so I lost a lot of contact with them - me and my girls got excluded from the annual Xmas camping trip because my ex went and abused some of the wives for inviting me - they didn't want drama so easier to cut both of us. Slowly coming back, but some have comp…

If she wants the house and you want the house... just sell it. It'll be cheaper. I gave my ex everything (i told her when we were amicable thst we'll get a company in, she can take a fair bunch of stuff as im not too attached to anything and happy to start again). She was a hoarder - She took at all 78 dining plates (I asked for her to leave 6, she did... all different and cracked), 4 cutlery sets, all the kids clothes (didn't leave me anything), she even took my cpap and travel cpap (she doesn'…

I have two daughters 6 and 10. I hard deleted any photo with their vituperative mother in them. Hopefully never see that woman again (regretfully we have 6 in person hand overs a year, which require police station attendance due to the fact she is mad and I won't be near her without cctv coverage. In removed them because we were together for 22 years, and it's hard looking at them given 3 years on, I still don't know why she's like this (mental illness). She's bankrupted me, cost me my career, w…

Can I ask - have you ever considered reaching out. Talking to other, older dads who gave up their kids, that's the scariest thing for me - is to completely give up. But I can also tell you after hearing their stories, no matter what you think, It's never too late. (I know a gentleman who is 68, has a 33 yo son who he had to walk away from 25 years ago, and would still like to at least chat and know him (he knows he's married with a kid - ie grandson)

Yep. Did the same thing. Too painful to ever see her again. I have protection orders against my ex wife and her father, due to what they did to me after the divorce. I had a heart from stress and couldn't take the kids - texted her what was going on and planned surgery later in the week (I AF'd at 38 years old) - her response was "noted. Please ensure I'm not your in case of emergency contact". I realised that the person I met in high school and married after university, and travelled around the…

If you intended / want to still be the father of your eldest - stfu. Only your lawyer needs to know - they can press her lawyer if needed. If you don't want the child in your, see a child therapist first and / or marriage counsellor either your ex wife, and discuss strategies on how you can extricate yourself. You don't want the child to associate your separation with your reduced contact. Legally, you're still going to be on the hook for CS. And the risk is if the eldest stays with her, then co…

That's the vanilla version. Wait till I tell you how - her father bullied me into taking on a $320k business loan against my disabled fathers home - my business partner was arrested for money laundering - my business partner got a family member to set up a competing business and transferred 75% of the clients to his nieces business while I was distracted with the divorce - this left me with $1.5m in debt - if I file for bankruptcy, I lose my career - my ex wife and business partner were emailing…

Do not budge. I played the good guy - paid for a new place for my ex, got removalists to get her and our kids settled. My reward - she falsely accused me of financial abuse to my registration body so I lost my licence and my business - she falsely locked mine and my business bank accounts - my business had to go bankrupt. She refuses to cosign the voluntary papers which cost me an extra $20k - she refused to let me settle the liquidator for $10k. Cost us $90k instead - when I had a heart attack,…

Look. You won the cheating lottery as she had the decency to have an abortion and tell you it wasn't yours. I'm actually impressed with her truthfulness. She could've not told you it wasn't yours and you would have had to move on. Your choice - sometimes cheating happens. My mother cheated on my father when they were young. He forgave her, they had 2 boys and while they're divorced now they still hang out with each other and go on holidays together. You need to look deep into yourself and decide…

Well I had to have emergency surgery over my 2 days/fn with my kids. I asked if I could FaceTime or see the kids before I went under. Nope. I asked if I could have make up time. Nope. So I'd now 5 weeks between when I see the kids

Why? My girls (9 and 6) share space. There's a desk area in the main room they can work on. It teaches them other skills. And it keeps buying stuff down to a minimum. I also started buying things at goodwill or heavily discounted new clothing and just buying the essentials. It's amazing how kids don't care if they're in $80 dresses vs $10 dresses - they rip and get grown out of the same way. Now we spend our weekends bike riding or going to the local pool. Lately it's cold so we just sit at home…

Yeah i hated the end of my marriage, and was trying everything to make it work (i was convinced that it was all my fault). I had already moved to another room, after my ex- told me that sometimes when I walk in she gets scared because she doesn't recognise me (I lost 75kgs in 18 months... and the jelousy increased 100x as suddenly I had a life, fitness, attention and a fitness routine with boundaries). SHe didn't see she had trauma or other issues to deal with (she was sexually assaulted by one …

Because we have children, attend doctors appointments, I'm on the board of the school. If it wasn't for the kids, I'd have completely destroyed her career 12 months ago (using federal government resources and senior position to get me de-registered is up there on the list of naughty things when you have a security clearance; lets not start with using your government email to have discussions with a money laundering/tax evading criminal ex-business partner... and also trying to subvert the law to…

it was surprisingly easy, as over the last 2-3 days i've had to do some serious soul searching, and this was one I had to put to bed. I know i'll never talk to her, but my reasoning is that her behaviour can't change who I am... and i will now just save up for therapy for my kids
