A long time ago, discrimination was legal and women weren't allowed to work in high-paying positions, so getting married was a way for women to survive. Marriage is a contract that binds the man to support his wife and bounds the wife to keep the home for her husband for life. If the couple divorced, the woman would most likely survive in abject poverty. Alimony aka spousal support was created so divorced women (who had no options and most likely no marriage prospects due to her age) wouldn't be…

I killed the Tinder game for a few years when I was on it. If you have no good pictures then you're absolutely SOL. If you get that fixed, then yes, Tinder is the absolute move. It takes a while of tweaking your profile, coming up with good lines, and going through a ton of matches. It's pretty much a numbers game, and your pictures are the biggest player. Go for it, but use condoms ffs.

How many of those marriages have a dead bedroom? How many of those marriages are just getting by, day to day because they don't know any better or because of the kids? How many of those marriages one party (usually the woman) has a side "investment" (aka affair)? Honestly, every single marriage I know falls into one of those categories, mine did too, that's why I got divorced. It's interesting to look at marriage through the paradigm of an investor. Would you play heads and tails knowing tha…

Honestly, it's the best thing I've done. I had it done when I was about 24 and have literally never regretted it. I got to spend the rest of my 20s knowing with near certainty that I couldn't be trapped. The whole procedure is minimally invasive and nowhere near as painful as you think. I was in and out of the doctor's office in less than an hour and I sat on the couch watching TV all weekend. I was good to go on Monday morning. Fun fact from my urologist: The most popular time to get a vase…

My dude, I can't begin to tell you how happy stories like yours make me. I was once in a military marriage that failed. After the divorce, I lost everything. I was broke, took a cashier's job to make ends meet, and was almost homeless. But I was also 21 years old and free for the first time in my life. I knew the divorce would cost me dearly for a few years (and it did), but it was soooooooo much better than spending the rest of my life completely miserable. When I was married, I dreamed of th…

However you want to frame it is fine with me. If this is a dealbreaker for him, then he's allowed to feel that way. Imo he was very reasonable because he asked her this question before the relationship got really serious. He got an honest answer, and he didn't like it, so he walked away to do some thinking. There's nothing wrong with that. It's called doing the Thot Walk. Honestly, I wish more men had the courage to do the Thot Walk; They walk away from a thot. Can you imagine how many of our pr…

I don't really think anyone is being an asshole here. The guy asked her about a dealbreaker 2 months into the relationship. That's a perfectly reasonable time frame. I would feel differently if they had been together for years and he decided that this was an issue the night before they were getting married. She's not an asshole either. She told the truth to the best of her ability. If the guy is too sensitive to deal with it, then it's not her fault. I would feel differently if she were cheating…

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B001MJSAJQ/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 These are the ones I bought years ago. The price of these things have gone so far down that you might as well get higher quality blades. Feather makes the best blades and 100 of them are about $10. I'll be getting those when I finally run out.

I came here to comment on this. I bought a safety razor back in 2014 for $15. I got a pack of refill blades on Amazon for $13, and today I'm 3/4 through them. Cartridge razors are an absolute scam. Fuck Gillette.

How many diseases have men cured? How many inventions have we made that changed the world? How many of us have fought in wars so we could have a country with "freedom"? I can't argue with you because you're right; men who get married today are fucking idiots. That said, we've been screwed out of our right to safely have a family in the country that WE started and fought to keep. We deserve the right to have a family without fear of our lives being destroyed. That's what all this is about. EDIT: …

She worked there for the first year as an accountant. I did the fact checking and amended the post... long before you commented. And this is not exclusively about the Bezos' divorce struggle. It's about every man's divorce struggle. We are routinely raked over the coals in supremely unfair family court systems for absurd amounts of money. The alimony system is outdated and needs to catch up to the times. There's no reason a fully capable adult should be sponging off of his or her former spouse. …

The problem is alimony laws, it's not all about Bezos. It happens to millions of men every year and needs to stop. If you didn't earn it, then you shouldn't get to keep it after a divorce.

So she deserves to be wealthy because her ex-husband founded the most successful company in recorded history? She's the one who made the decisions that took Amazon to new heights? The outrage is that she did nothing to earn $66 billion dollars. She's becoming wealthy beyond imagination for having done almost nothing but marry a guy. When a divorce ends, the relationship is over. Nobody should be making a profit off the hard work of an ex-spouse.
/r/MensRights10/01/19 07:19 PM

See, the "minority custody" you were able to achieve is better than you would've gotten after suing your non-spouse for rights. I'm not sure what the law is like in your area, but here, custody and divorce are two separate issues. You can get a divorce without dealing with custody arrangments. Years after the divorce is complete, you can still battle it out for custody. Marriage does not affect parental rights to your own biological child (in my state). MGTOW is meant to be a personal choice; It was never about society. That said, I predict that MGTOW will continue to grow to a size that it affects society and become something that alarms many people. We are already seeing a preview of that future now. An example could be the growing concern of declining marriage rates. I also predict we will see a rise of alternative marriages like co-habitation agreements, symbolic weddings (no legal contract is signed), and civil partnerships. If marriage is…

You're very correct that the non-radicals still believe that they are oppressed. This is from generations of brainwashing that needs to be undone. My purpose in creating this post was to address that this movement needs to do everything possible to remove itself from the crap the feminists say about us. If we don't then we are complicit in their hateful opinions and we will be no better than the feminists we fight against.

I should have further clarified that it's not just certain comments that are unwelcome, but people of a certain mindset. I don't want MRA to be known as a safe haven for people who harbor animosity toward anyone in particular. I realize that feminist propaganda is largely responsible for this public image, but we can very easily fall into the trap of extremism that 3rd wave feminism has suffered if we don't nip this problem by the bud.

A long time ago, women were unable to hold substantial employment that made them capable of paying the bills on their own. It was expected they would marry and their husbands would provide for them. Marriage was meant to be a life-long relationship; men were essentially bound to support their otherwise incapable wives for life. Well, ideally a relationship works both ways. You should be getting something from them too. So the gap is real, but it's not caused by sexism. It is completely and entirely true that, as a group, women make about 30% less than men. The real question is why. Long story short, more women choose to be stay at home parents. Women also choose lower paying college majors like art and education while men gravitate toward STEM. This is not about actually having a real physical abortion. Nobody is suggesting that pregnant women be forced to go to a clinic and abort the child they wanted to keep. It's letting men choose not to be fathers. It's often called a "paper abortion" because it's essentially removing all parental rights and responsibilities by signing them away on a piece of paper.

I was the victim of no-fault divorce. Fortunately, it happened when I was poor and had nothing to take. Now that I'm doing better in life, I know not to ever get married because I now have a lot to lose. At least one friend of mine has drawn on my experience as a reason to not get married himself. I can totally understand that divorce ruins a lot of men, but it also makes those men think twice before getting married. The more marriage sucks, the more people will forego it.

Why does this sub not support no-fault divorce? It's another nail in the coffin for marriage, and this sub is completely against marriage. What's the deal?

Whether or not the women could afford a child is not the donor's fault. That said, I totally see how it shouldn't be the burden of society to foot the bill for single moms who chose to be financially destitute. There should be rules requiring people to prove financial stability before taking donor sperm.

Well, it seems a lot more affordable that the European countries that originally had my interest. I'll have to turn my attention to Asia. Thanks a bunch. This is the kind of advice I came here to get.

I needed a laugh, thanks. I've decided that a fresh start in a place where I'm not already caught up in the system is the best option if I want to keep my dignity. I truly hope that I don't have to take such drastic measures. That said, if I lose my home, son, and quality of life, then there's really no reason for me to stay here.

Yes I did that years ago when I lost my job. I then went to college and have been doing much better ever since. The problem is that I may be facing another drastic reduction in income and medical care. Losing the medical benefits would be a death knell as it would render me almost completely unable to get out of bed on some days. Another thing you have to understand is that the child support system isn't based on what I can or cannot afford. If I were completely unemployed and making 0 money, th…

Where I am, child support is calculated based on income and custody. Generally, the more custody you have, the more child support you receive. There are exceptions for high earning individuals, but that doesn't apply to me. If I lose what custody I have, then my child support obligations will drastically increase to a point that would make my life nothing more than an effort to pay it off.

I currently get to see my son as much as I want, but I know his mother would gladly jump at the chance to get more child support. I'm facing a situation that could render me without healthcare and basically unable to carry on any quality of life. I wouldn't be able to pay bills and would likely become homeless. The state would certainly agree that a homeless person isn't a fit parent and I would lose custody. I don't want to say too much about the disability because it could identify me, but I'l…

I would never ditch out on my kids. In the scenario described in this post, I will have been forcefully taken from my son and don't get to see him anyway.

You're welcome my friend. I have no hate or ill will toward anyone in particular. I'm just tired of being taken advantage of with no option for civil recourse. It's kind of a last resort, but I'm somehow at peace with the decision.

I always try to reach out, but I've been through this before. Actually, trying to understand why I was treated so terribly in the family courts is how I discovered Men's Rights to begin with.

Basically things that are sedentary and super flexible; like I can just work for one hour and that may be it for the day. This is why I'm trying out working from home for myself. If you're asking about specific jobs, then I'm afraid I don't have a very good answer. I've tried a multitude of different things from being a bank teller, working at bars, working in warehouses, etc. I'm just not employable by any conventional job that I'm aware of. Edit: Can you tell me what your ideas are? That may h…

So you were taken advantage of, alienated from your kid, raked over the coals in court, lived in poverty for 15 years, and now you play video games and drink?

Not going into specifics because it may identify me, but it's sorta comparable to epilepsy. I can function perfectly well, but only for random periods of time. Edit: I'll clarify that by also mentioning that I don't suffer from dangerous seizures, but what I do suffer from greatly debilitates my mental acuity.

Yes, I am fully aware that leaving will not protect any assets. I had to rebuild myself after the divorce, I had to do it again after military service, and if I have to do it a third time, then it will not be in this country. I've broken no laws, paid my taxes, served in the military honorably, graduated from college, got married, and I'm a good father. I've also been absolutely shit on by this system every step of the way, and I'm over it.

Do those countries have any sort of program to take in people like me? I doubt I qualify as a refugee because that usually means leaving a famine, warzone, genocide, etc. I suppose I could argue that I've faced some sort of persecution as a father, and that persecution happens frequently, but I doubt it would work.
