Yeah, this isn’t my sub really… but I’ll give this a go anyway, from a Finnish perspective. Many people in Finland would be okay with expanding conscription to women (and this is likely to happen slowly over time), but the Defence Forces have been against it. Why? The budget and the labor involved in total reform would diminish the resources they can allocate to their primary mission of national safety. It would and will be difficult to change conscription in a way that would ensure the continua…

Well, in my experience that is not true. My fiancee likes my body (I don’t), and I have several women as friends who seem to go for the same or simply don’t care that much. Ofc I also have friends who have a different type. They’re mostly athletic themselves. I think for the most part you need to prepare to get what you’re giving/putting out there.

You are disregarding everything else I said, though. I think it’s a bit more equal now, but I still don’t think it makes much of a difference if a woman is powerful, rich or funny unless she is also at least fit and preferably also attractive. It does for dudes. It did for me. I mean, I am a fat dude, but if the expectation regarding my physique is that I should maybe be at a normal weight… that’s not a lot, considering that it affects fertility and health.

Lots of women want a ’teddy bear’ bodied partner. I have dated them and I have them as friends They all wanted me because I’m funny, safe to be around (which means I’m able to talk about stuff and not just seethe in silence), and have I ambitions and interests in life. I’m 5”7. I’ve never had a problem with dating women as a fat dude (I was a chubby kid in an ACES riddled household). Men are on average much more critical of their partner’s body. Just look at the average standards in the gay comm…

I really can’t! Firstly, because it’s your personal belief system, and secondly, this is the internet, so I don’t know much about anyone here. It sounds like you don’t like the world the way you see it. Transactionality could also be described as “tit for tat” or fairness, or it can be extortion or indirect manipulation. There are useful and harmful transactions. Plants also have transactions with each other, the sun, the ground, animals. Life depends on this exchange. Hierarchies exist and can …

Are you a giver or a taker? And are there other “types” of people in this world?

So is your grievance primarily with cunsumerist-capitalism? It’s effect on romantic relationships is more of a consequence in this view, I’d guess? How would you like the world to work? What’s your utopia?

I’m not insulted at all, don’t worry :) I hope you find your own version of happiness in this world. And for the record, I have nothing against transactions per se. imI don’t see them in a negative light. I’m just curious about your motivations. I see you post stuff like this a lot. What do you hope to accomplish with this? Attention? Reenforcement of opinions? I’m genuinely just curious, btw. My motivation is entertainment, I guess.

I guess this is your main personal issue. You talk like you see life as a series of transactions instead of individuals as having an experience. This points to a gap in your upbringing that could be amended, and would lead to better relationships in general (family, friends, men, women, etc). Not trying to insult, bro, just trying to be helpful in my own way.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
