Thanks for the advice. I have not filed nor has she. She stated that she didn't want a divorce and agreed to the marriage counseling. We've been married for 20 years. She has spoken with a free lawyer from the abuse support network but has not pursued anything further.

Thanks. I only told her I would get help for my controlling behavior so she would bring my kids back home. They were in an abuse shelter and I would say anything to get them back home.

they will coach you into a vasectomy, they already did that, but I'm in my mid 40's and not really looking to have anymore kids. We have 3 and have been married for 20 years.

Do you, or have you ever yelled and hit (or spanked) your children? Not anymore. We disciplined our kids when they were little but they teen\pre-teen now and way to old for that now. We've been married for 20 years and our kids are pretty well behaved.

Hope is not a plan, and hope is not your friend. Time is on her side, not yours. I like that. It is true for a lot of things. Thanks for the advice.

Hi! the title of the post is 'dodging' not 'dodged'. I am still in the middle of this thing and not sure where it is going so any tips are appreciated.

I don't think so. I do not feel the need to control her. It's hard enough controlling my life much less someone else's. My wife is a stay at home mom, and we have 3 kids. I work two jobs and I am working on my PhD.

I don't believe I was controlling and I do not feel the need to control her.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
