Reddit is trying to IPO and this is just the sort of appalling behaviour that will put brakes on it- report this to the media for sure! Contact Bloomberg News, the WSJ, or the FT (all have very good investigative journalists)! They will HAVE to fix this if they want to be a public company

Date multiple people (but don’t sleep with any of them!) until one asks you to be exclusive. If you’re seeing someone you like and they haven’t asked you yet: Turn down a Saturday night date or two (but don’t say why you’re busy- you could have plans with your friends or other dates, he doesn’t need to know why). Wait for him to bring up sex and/or commitment. Explain you are seeing multiple people and only have sex when you’re in a relationship with someone. See how he reacts and be prepared fo…

Someone I dated also lied about when he broke up with his ex..similar story, he said it had been 10 months when it had only been 2! As soon as I ended it with him after 3 months (for other reasons), he was back together with her..raising questions about whether he had ever stopped talking to her in the first place 🙄 surprise surprise I think when they lie about the recency of a breakup they’re hiding something for sure

‘If you have to ask, that’s your answer’ applies to most situations with men Every time I’ve had doubts about someone my intuition has been right..have really learned to trust it over the years

WOW what a good insight here..I have a ‘pickme’ frenemy who I can’t trust around men (she always feels the need to be competitive, is super insecure etc etc), and this is further reason not to trust her in general. The need for male validation bleeds into everything..

This happened to me a few years ago..my ‘date’ was a professional negotiator (literally part of his job) who wouldn’t take no for an answer, tried over 4x after I said no repeatedly, tried to gaslight me (‘it’s not a big deal! You want it! I know you do!’), and was super aggressive with ‘just the tip’ bullshit. I thankfully didn’t let him go all the way, but he got very close and it was a big effort to get him off of me It didn’t register as rape at the time for some reason (felt awful but rape …

Pets are a great filter for men..I once briefly dated someone who was jealous of the attention and time my pet required (less attention and time for him!) and suggested I just leave the animal alone for the weekend with an automatic food dispenser so that I could stay over at his the whole weekend. He made the argument by declaring my pet wouldn’t care if I were dead, so why did I care so much about it? 🤡 Although I already had some suspicions he was a selfish jerk beneath the mask, I was still …

1k for nipple pics is definitely fake - nudity is a commodity on the internet and (unless you are already a celebrity) pays accordingly. Meanwhile the act of selling nude pics or worse is highly stigmatised and (a) ruins later career options when your short OF ‘opportunity’ runs its course, (b) ruins later relationships (most men have zero respect for women who post nude pics of themselves on the internet - there was a thread here about this), and (c) limits social opportunities in your communit…

I really think there needs to be collective political action here..the only reason men go to clubs is to show off and get laid. No women = no revenue = no nightlife industry We have alll the leverage here- why don’t we do something with it?

I feel like this has been totally normalised in pop culture as well..many US sitcoms and movies feature a super capable and hot wife paired with a (literal and figurative) potato for a husband. Probably a contributing factor to men’s absurdly inflated expectations

Luckily i read about PUA techniques when I was in college and could spot them..a few examples were being told ‘acted too old’ for my age when I was 22 and didn’t want to ‘have fun’ with some loser, that I’m ‘too serious,’ etc etc (as if I’d want to prove that I’m ‘fun’ by having casual sex? Ugh 🤢)

Yes this happened to me!! BRIEFLY dated a LVM (during lockdown, to make matters worse) last year who did EXACTLY THIS. Pretended to be very high value initially, and quickly created a sense of intimacy by sharing childhood trauma/being vulnerable, claiming to be depressed etc. This of course endeared him to my pickmeisha self at the time…he claimed to be in therapy working on the issues, and I was super sympathetic and wanted to help him. Eventually had to end it when he told me he ‘felt nothing…

Went on a date with this guy years ago in my early 20s..we had been on a few dates and he had been charming, so we were traveling back to his on public transport. He was texting on his phone, so I get out mine and start texting too. He then takes my phone out of my hand and throws it on the ground, blaming me for being drunk (?!). It totally shocked me..I just grabbed my phone and left, but wondered for a while afterwards if I had done something wrong (he was super manipulative..) or if he thoug…

‘Marriage o clock’ is absolutely a thing..have seen this way too many times. Men feel like being married is a status symbol, and past a certain age being a bachelor isn’t cool anymore.. But I also wonder about guys who string along forever girlfriends. I know a guy who was dating this girl for over 10 years, they broke up a few months ago and he obviously played the field, and now all of a sudden they’re back together and he’s not happy about the situation. The whole thing is baffling from both …

The news this morning was beyond depressing-this, more of the Sara Everand fallout, cops harassing one of the Sara Everand vigil attendees on Tinder, the Plymouth shooting, AND the Dubai sheik using Pegasus on his wife. Crimes against women left and right, and nobody seems to be doing anything about it Has it always been this bad? Or has something happened over the past few years..?

Oh my god, I narrowly escaped a similar situation..! The guy seemed so unassuming but for some reason had almost all female friends- I didn’t stick around long enough to find out if he had slept with them all but from what I knew about him I wouldn’t be remotely surprised (especially as they sometimes hung out one-on-one..) He was also really into BDSM, was super manipulative, low-key emotionally absuive while pretending to be a victim etc, seemed to want to use me for free therapy etc etc ..it …

Ughh absolutely, I see no point at all in casual sex. Have only tried it once with an ex and it was awful...he showed up at my place and hadn't even showered after a long run (although he had changed his clothes). It wasn't until his dick was near my face that I realised - and I nearly threw up at the smell. And of course he left immediately after he came and didn't even try to make me orgasm. Never again. Also terrible is men who try to insist on the pullout method over a condom, citing their s…

Worrying in terms of what the long-term societal implications of this will be...if there are fewer economically indepedent men, that presumably means fewer desirable life partners for women (particularly educated women) Lower marriage and birth rates? Changing social norms where women are literally expected to do it all ?
