I disagree with my parents about many things. We don't discuss them often. Still I respect them and it's mutual. You don't have to follow their life goals/guidelines. Think and live as you want, it's your life, not theirs. I agree with all your points. Having money in the bank, hitting the gym and working out doesn't mean I owe anything to anyone (incl. women).
