How do you strike the balance between being passive but also being able to switch to more active when you sense an opportunity?

I've only come across this type of advice recently and I think it makes a lot of sense. In the past, when I've successfully kissed on a first date I feel like I need to keep kissing / build up to making out, but looking back I can see that it didn't really achieve a whole lot.

Damn, this is a great way to play it - even having her briefly come in at the start probably does a lot of good as it makes her familiar with your place. My car is nothing like a GTR but otherwise I'll keep this in mind!

How did you hook up with both of them in the same night - did you go to their places?

Yeah I'd agree with this. I went on a date with a particularly good looking woman last year and she said it was nice after I first kissed her. I then kissed her quite a few more times and definitely felt like they didn't add to the success of the date (if anything they pushed her away).

Agreed - I think based on the topics the woman was discussing, it was not appropriate to escalate. However, as you say, there is a chance (IMO relatively small) that the woman was open to things escalating but wasn't considered in the topics she was discussing. I think it's quite powerful for men to remind themselves that sometimes women can be the ones who mess up!

Firstly, I think it's fine to ask someone out on a date at a meetup group like the one you're attending, provided you are primarily there for the activity itself and your approaches are considered (i.e. you're not trying it on with every woman, and don't develop a reputation as someone that is always looking for someone to date). In this particular scenario, as others have said, you should have definitely NOT escalated considering the stories she was telling you, and I'm glad you didn't. I'd als…

That's cool - how did you get to know her and then start dating her?

I like how you approached it as 'let's grab coffee at a place we both like' rather than 'hey I'd like to take you out on a date...' . I think these less direct ways of asking someone out work really well and it's something I want to start doing.

Thanks for the insight. I get your point about settings where people aren't expecting to get laid...I think it's important to be aware that more effort / time may be required. I find the concept of asking a girl to come back to my place / asking to go to their place (more likely their place as I live outside of the city I visit) a bit awkward. How do you approach this / how do you phrase it?

What was some of the most useful advice / tips regarding sex techniques that you learned?

Interesting - what sort of social settings are you referring to? Daytime group activities or things in the evening with alcohol like house parties?

Groups like run clubs seem like a great way to meet women, but it seems difficult to turn those connections into dating, considering the focus of the groups isn't dating. What do you mean by waiting women to come to you? Surely you still need to make the first proper move?

I'm in a similar situation to you. I haven't lost a ton of weight but still a significant amount. I think my weight loss has lead to an increase of indicators of interest from women. I think my personality / charisma still does most of the heavy lifting regarding attraction, but I've definitely noticed fast IOIs from women - either without speaking or very soon after a conversation starts, which you would presume to be more looks-driven. The only time I have made a move on a woman who was giving…

"Confidence is being yourself, without shame towards your desires. It's knowing that you're allowed to show interest, and ask people out, and make your attraction known. These are the real things that hold people back." This is really powerful advice - I think a lot of people, myself included, sometimes feel an element of shame if we show interest in someone, ask them out and get rejected. It's important to be comfortable with doing this, otherwise dating/relationships wouldn't be a thing!

Overall I really like your advice. The issue I have with the mantra of building an amazing life so that opportunities/women come to you is that you can't fully give up the 'chase' otherwise you are relying on women to make the first move which is very rare. What are your thoughts on this?

Definitely agree with giving his number in this situation - less pressure

I hope you take a step back and read your comment. It's pathetic behaviour and you need to slap some sense into yourself. Stop making excuses.

There's nothing to decide. You like her and she might like you. Give it a try! I think it's very easy to overthink these situations and give them more importance than they deserve.

In this situation I would give the worker a piece of paper / a business card with your phone number and name written on it. If you think there's a chance of being served by someone else when queuing up then approach the desk from the side she is closest to and get her attention. You could just have another general conversation with her (i.e. how you are finding them event), and at the end say something like "I really enjoy talking to you. I'd like to get to know you better - here's my details if…

Losing weight by taking up cardio. Previously I wasn't "fat" but looking back I was definitely chubby / bloated. I don't look super different but my belly is significantly smaller now and what is just as important is the fact that I now feel more confident / sexier with my body. I went to a swimming pool a few months ago and it was the first time in a very long time where I didn't feel a little self conscious shirtless sitting/lying down (typically less flattering if you have a belly). That was …

This is a challenging situation and obsessing over one girl you find the most physically attractive in a group doesn't help. See if an opportunity arises to join the group, rather than forcing yourself to barge in. A great tactic that worked for me recently was talking to two women who were infront of me ordering a drink at the bar. That was then basically a green light to go join their group on the dancefloor soon afterwards - I even saw one of the two women look around a couple of times after …

I'm not sure if the outcome with this particular girl would've been different if you had got her phone number instead, but I would recommend that you ask for the number instead going forward. It signals that you are serious about taking her out on a date. The other comments here are valid, sadly this does happen often. Getting contact details doesn't guarantee a date. Even having a seemingly good first date doesn't guarantee a second date. Praise yourself for having the confidence to make a move…

Bro, you can't leave important info like this out of your original post. You've become too emotionally invested too quickly. Asking someone you've not been properly dating, only making out with and have slept with once, "where do you see this going" is not a good move and was probably quite jarring for her as you're suddenly changing the frame from something casual to something serious. I would not message her again and just act like you never sent that text (unless she starts acting awkward/bri…

I don't think you did anything wrong. Maybe she only wanted to sleep with you one time. Maybe after sex she now thinks things are getting too serious/intimate too soon. Maybe she's embarrassed with giving you a kiss goodnight? Maybe she isn't happy that (guessing from your post) you didn't stay the night? Give her some space and then reach out casually seeing if she wants to hang out or whatever.

Your reply to her message definitely isn't a mistake - it's the only thing you could've said and now it's awkward that she hasn't responded. You may have taken too long to suggest a date but I don't think the situation is ruined - I would probably jump straight to proposing a date and seeing how she responds.

Your approach is wrong - you didn't give time for any of the connections to actually develop. You're at a nightclub man - kissing, making out and maybe leaving to fuck is expected. Going up to women, talking for minute and your end goal just being asking for their number/insta is boring and non-committal. Next time spend more time talking to a particular woman and see what happens.

Not being dependent on the outcome of dates / interactions with women. In other words, not caring too much if sex (intercourse or other forms) happens. Sure, you need to gradually increase sexual tension and be aware of when sex could happen, but it's so much better if you go with the flow and see what happens naturally. Typically kissing turns into making out, which becomes more and more intense until you're both turned on and sex is the natural next step. Other things: Being reasonably healthy…
