It has everything to do with what we were talking about. That community is the sole subject of discussion in IncelTear. The vast majority of posts in IncelTear are screenshots of posts from websites like incels.is.

Have you ever visited any incel forums or websites? The incel subculture absolutely does exist. You may prefer to use a broader definition, but it's not 'disinformation' to say that there is a community of angry men who blame women for the fact they can't get their dicks wet.

And you are the one who said only men are incels No. This discussion started when you claimed: There is even an entire subreddit about saying that ugly or short men should kill themselves. I was pointing out that "ugly or short men" is not synonymous with incels. what does it have to do with the current topic? Although it was originally coined by a queer woman to mean anyone who is sexually frustrated, in modern usage 'incels' are a particular subculture of people who hate women and blame them f…

Well, yes they are. All ugly and short people (why do you only say men?) are incels, and all incels are ugly or short... or disabled. Nonsense. I am both ugly and short, but I am not an incel by any definition: I have had sex many times and I don't hate women. Meanwhile many incels are average-looking (or better), tall, and/or able bodied. Being a hateful misogynist with poor social skills is not a disability. (why do you only say men?) Because you claimed that IncelTear was about ugly and short…

You've obviously never actually read IncelTear. For a start, encouraging or celebrating suicide is banned. Secondly, IncelTear is dedicated to criticism of incels, not ugly or short men. Most ugly or short men are not incels. Many incels are neither ugly nor short.

more likely to pair bond That's a made-up thing. It isn't real.

I'm not convinced that there's anything particularly gendered about older people being condescending to younger people. It's very easy to assume that someone younger than you is also naive, unworldly or inexperienced. Doesn't really have anything to do with gender or feminism.

She probably believes the common misconception that vasectomies are easily and reliably reversible. They are not. It seems unlikely that she genuinely wants you to get yourself permanently sterilised as soon as you turn 18. Hopefully if she realises that reversing vasectomies is difficult and not guaranteed, especially if it has been some time since the original procedure was carried out, she will see sense.

Everyone gets left to fend for themselves in their 20s; that's what being an adult is. I don't see who you think is supposed to look after you when you're an adult. You don't want to be responsible for kids, don't have kids. You don't want to provide financially for a stay-at-home wife, either marry someone who wants to carry on working or don't marry at all. Most people don't have a choice; raising a family on a single income is impossible for all but the very richest people these days, so your…

Who is supposed to be 'taking care of' these young men? Whatever happened to being an adult and making your own way in the world?

A man isn't obliged to provide for anyone at any age unless he has children, in which case he and his partner are obliged between them to provide for those children. How labour, both domestic and paid, is divided between a couple in a relationship is up to them: it's fair to expect both partners to pull their weight in some way, but that doesn't necessarily mean that their contributions need to be identical. But surely basing your contribution in a relationship on whether you were 'appreciated' …

Yeah, lots of men do have those kinds of requirements or expectations. Most people would agree that they're delusional, sexist, entitled douchebags. I don't think it's entirely unfair that this woman should be similarly criticised for exemplifying the flip side of the coin. That a lot of the criticism here carries an unsavoury undercurrent of both misogyny and racism is regrettable, but what do you expect on an antifeminist sub? Nonetheless, the fundamental theme of the criticism, that people wi…

Couldn't possibly mean the person realizes your headspace is dark and it would benefit you and your health to look on the bright side. Maybe I've had a shitty day and I'm fed up with it. Maybe I just got some really bad news. Maybe someone I know has just died. Being sad or angry or frustrated are legitimate feelings to have and having to maintain a façade of carefree happiness is not, in fact, healthy at all. Or someone implying a smile looks better on you than a frown. Like someone saying blue…

Yes, as a man I really wish I received weirdly patronising 'complements' more often.

That doesn't mean that prior relationships preclude intimacy. It just shows that people who aren't good at making relationships work are more likely to have a history of lots of failed relationships. That really shouldn't be surprising at all, but it doesn't really tell you very much else.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
