There's another term for this: lateral thinking. Identifying the premise (chick) and realizing there is another fundamental way to approach the problem (options) or even that the problem is defined wrong (fixation).

I wouldnt say it's necessary to cut out men from your life who shit test you. I may just be old-fashioned, but I thought men are supposed to bust each others' balls. It brings down fakers (good) and shows everyone who is full of shit who thinks he is a real deal (good). If you think your frame is big and strong from reading all little RP articles and posts but you're unwilling to be around guys who don't tolerate posturing and weakness, I don't think you're ready for the big leagues.

What everybody really needs a constant vacation from is instant gratification, passive consumption, and artificial light past dusk. Screens are too often the receptacles of anxiety and blinders to the world around you. So yeah, go ahead and take a break. The fact you are aware of their effects is a step in the right direction.

Here's one I did today: instead of texting someone an interesting thought you have, wait until you talk to them in person or on the phone to bring it up. In person > phone > text. Communicating the way we evolved to communicate is the only real way to be happy. And if you suck at it, you're gonna be unhappy. I'm still one of those people with the smart phone reflex, though. At least when I whip it out, it's to text my close friend of 10+ years, but I do this instead of just talking to the person…

I once read taking a girl on a date where you are both solving some sort of problem together is a way to tap into a primal bond-forging apparatus of human nature. I guess we are biologically biased to at least try to establish some connection with the other person if we are relying on each other for survival, which is what problem-solving used to mostly consist of. If you have a modicum of chemistry, it acts as a catalyst for sparking a connection. I've never tried it but it sounds plausible.

If you're talking about how romantic comedy is called porn for women, I'd say there are some pretty significant differences... You don't masturbate to a rom com, normally... Having a full blown sexual release kinda changes things. When you do it in the context of seeing a sexual image, you are associating an intense reward with a passive experience. That's fine if you want to be a passive person, but I don't think most people do. At its heart, philosophically, rom coms are similar in the fact it…

It's about not having control. These kids come on here reading about how porn is addictive and makes you a worse person but if you could just shake it off, you'd become a superhero. So they have all of these wild fantasies and when they fail, they become obsessed with it as a personal failure and crusade for everyone to understand their struggle as a Great Struggle worthy of admiration, respect, and mimicry. When in the end, all they needed to do was set personal goals and standards and work to …

Because when men aren't getting sexual release, they get restless and want to destroy and create things, all of which may not agree with the existing status quo, in social, political, and cultural spheres.

Don't be fooled into thinking if you visualize porn when you masturbate that it's just on its death knell and will eventually fade. When you associate orgasm with thinking about those images, you are strengthening those neural pathways. I don't condone masturbation because even if you are "creating" you own scenarios in your head, they are often very porn-like anyways, so there is little difference.

It's because you're too absorbed in the death of the idea of your fantasies. Once you put the principles into action and start living, which you probably haven't done much of if you're posting here like most noobs, you'll get over the longing.

The military sure does a good job at cultivating loneliness instead of male comradery. Ask them to send you into frontline combat. Better than the guerrilla warfare of an LTR.

He's mocking you. If you're just trying to assert dominance for the sake of asserting dominance, you're either going to alienate yourself or the people you're trying to win over. Life doesn't exist in a vacuum. You should have a mission you really give a shit about, because when someone tries to stand between you and its success, you'll be willing to fight from a fortified position and assert "dominance" like you talk about.

Women don't hate pornography. It's just another example of powertalk on a large scale. The primary thing it has achieved is to remove the naturally weak men from the sex game. Natural alphas were then able to deal with less competition. Therefore, instead of a 1:1 game, 80% of women have access to the top 10%, which is exactly what they want. Sex with Chad, and resources from Jim. It does not "lower" the value of women. It just makes it easier for Chad to get to them and harder for Jim to get ca…

Most people here would just be relegated to a life of confusion and frustration were it not for those who didn't decide to burn bridges. I had a small little moment with my roommate the other day where we both knew we needed to talk to the other two about getting them to clean their own dishes. I was always the one who did his own dishes and was disappointed when the others didn't, and really wanted there to be a "system" in place so I didn't have to ask my roommates every time both sides of the sink were full, so I shied away from it. The other guy, meanwhile, was the scapegoat. He cleaned the dishes for everyone else but me, si…

I agree with the other guys here. Speaking from my own experience, I've noticed a significant increase in reaction time to things my close buddies say to me since swallowing, i.e. just being more alert, present, and assertive, which would suggest a decreased cognitive load from not having to 1. have a thought, 2. screen the thought, 3. soften the edges of the thought, and 4. express the inauthentic thought. If you really want to accelerate your learning, don't go home and jerk it. It'll make you more restless than you've ever been to figure out what went wrong and how to fix it. The release will just make you complacent, because your body takes it as a win. Same reason why you should be fasting while out in the woods hunting.

Journals are indispensable for the reason of staying in your frame. Every time we become a passive recipient of some command or information, like watching a movie, reading a book, or listening to a friend tell a story, we are giving into the frame of others. You'd be a lunatic to say you'll never submit to the frame of someone else, but some of us are somnambulant and we don't even realize it. We've gone so far off the track of our mission we don't know how to get back. A journal is a constant r…

Maybe if they had to fight for SMV like men do. You need a certain devastating degree of character to be able to slog through the early public humiliation and failure and come out on the end stronger and still eager. I have a lot of respect for people with that kind of bravery and fortitude. On the other hand, comedy is very masculine. It usually involves deconstructing a very common and accepted way of looking at the world and imposing your unique interpretation onto an audience. That is extrem…

Don't be naive. True love does exist. But only for the man with literally the highest SMV in the world. What happens when a woman is with her best option? Must have been nice to have been born king (and be a natural who isn't bitch-slapped by the queen).

Because "focus" mode is really just a term for saying you are engaged with your surroundings. I've recently discovered my natural energy, too, so to speak. "Introverts" don't exist. Humans evolved as social creatures. We're all extroverts but some of us just suck, so to cope, we get stimulation in our apartments alone to forget the pain of having to go out of our comfort zone to improve. If you think you're an introvert, realize you have no less of a desire to have social connections, you just have a tendency to be isolated.

Most people don't work to improve themselves in a meaningful way, so they way I see it, the moment you do that, you are automatically propelled into the upper tier. And working on yourself is something you can choose to do, so there is no reason to not have a growth mindset and be pessimistically fatalistic.
/r/TheRedPill13/12/16 08:07 PM

That is exactly the logic I think is at play. Honestly, there seem to be two tiers of feminists, one which has significantly higher than average SMV and one which has significantly lower. There doesn't seem to be a middle ground. The low tier don't get fucked so they're out of the gene pool and the high tier filters for the most dominant of men. Feminism is legit a pretty effective mating strategy.

The way I see it confidence is just something you decide is gonna happen. If you wait for it, it'll never show up. It's like when you're staring at the loaded barbell at your feet; you never really "want" to lift it, you just say, "fuck it", it's time I start lifting. There's no point in waiting at all because it only shows up when you drag it by the ear. Nevermind the fact Tyrion was born to the wealthiest family in Westeros when most people in that world live in a constant state of misery, has wagons upon wagons of silver stags to buy the services of any whore he comes across, has always had some significant degree of political power, and was born with 99th percentile intelligence... Just a joke, didn't mean to sound so fatalistic. Tyrion is actually a great example of someone who fully accepts his weaknesses and builds on his strengths.

I think in the context of the film, Tyler is viewing self-improvement entirely through the lens of building muscle by going to a gym and lifting weights. This clashes with his idea of the fights as being the ultimate form of male expression. So to build a Greek god physique by fighting is the only authentic way Tyler can see a man becoming lean and strong, while going to the gym, where there is no confrontation and each person goes to their little corner to work on themselves, all caked in socia…

Yes, reading can be a good use of time, but it's easy to pedestalize it to justify inaction. “Reading, after a certain age, diverts the mind too much from its creative pursuits. Any man who reads too much and uses his own brain too little falls into lazy habits of thinking.” – Albert Einstein This goes for leatherbound and forum-bound reading.

Practical tips are just as useful as philosophical maps. In my experience, the thing people pay 90% of their attention to is your state of being, i.e. how relaxed you are, how confident your behavior is, how your healthy your body is, and how guided you are by a central mission. Neinwank has been a useful tool for me. After about a week, I start getting an incredible sense of awareness of the larger problems in my life and a restlessness to correct all of it. If I don't make significant progress during this period, I become a wreck and then a release usually puts me in a glowing mood for the next few days. Let's not act like it's easy to forgo the need to seek acceptance. Humans evolved over millions of years craving acceptance biologically because if they were deemed pariahs of the tribe, they were done. Only relatively recently has civilized society and specialization allowed for what would previously be a genetic defect of not having social skills possible. Autism, disloyalty, and socipathy are all becoming advantages to have in an increasingly complex and competitive world. Completely alienate…

You need to figure out for yourself what you want. You may indeed alienate the good girls if you go full retard (never go full retard), but if you dose a moderate amount of assertiveness and make it clear to the women you want that you are completely independent of them, you should have decent relationships. Just remember, people only know what they see, so if you are a coward with high ambitions, people are going to judge you on your lack of bravery.

I've never drank and it's led to some strange sideways glances, but as long as I just confidently say "I'm waiting for the right time" or "It's not my thing" and move the conversation forward immediately, nobody cares anymore. It just depends on your reason for doing it. Some people have a genuine passion, nowadays economists and computer scientists are making a fortune out of building algorithms for predicting player output in fantasy leagues, and others find they can really bond with someone by talking about it.

It's shockingly disturbing how quickly any consideration of a theory will cease if you tag it with the word "conspiracy". Even if it is true, all you have to do is refer to it as a conspiracy theory in the media and most people will refuse to believe it. It has to do with how much sitting in neutral you do. Women think certain men are creepy because they hang around the periphery watching other people interact instead of being a driving force in the interaction. You're still brainwashed. (Don't worry, I am, too.) BP men have successfully rebranded submissiveness and obsessiveness as "intelligence" to give themselves an identity and consolation prize for not being brave enough to become the men they want to be, i.e. confident, outgoing, and carefree. Try to listen to music that reflects a positive mood you want to develop; in other words, don't listen to emo or heavy metal because broodiness and hyper-anger are not healthy feelings to stimulate in your free time. I like Bach because he never stays in one place musically. He i…

This is a frightening thing for me right now as a pre-med gearing up for that frantic med school life you're describing. And I do have the same belief things will get better once I cross that border. However, my opinion may differ from here. I have a theory. I think as long as I can get a place for myself, I'll be happy. I hate having to compete/deal/compromise with people at home. I feel like it has to be my sanctuary. I need to come home every day to a place I am absolutely in control of. I do…

Honestly, if I could have a place of my own without underachieving roommates who are always taking me out a personal groove because of pettiness, my quality of life would improve tenfold, without a doubt. Unfortunately, I don't have the money to finish off my degree and pay for my own place, of decent quality, close to my university. I'm still trying to wrestle for control of the natural alpha of the house so I don't have to fantasize about being the king of my home (it sucks not having control …

There are some days when I do ask myself what the fuck all of this is even for when we have a universe of pleasure available at our fingertips 24/7. Why do I bother meditating, lifting, and dieting when I could just watch porn, masturbate, drink, get high, and play video games all day? Sometimes I think it's us who are the fucking cowards, and the "losers" who are the brave and smart ones. They've learned to let go, but none of us have the balls to. I always respected the nerds who could confron…

I'm trying to figure that out myself. But know you aren't the only one suffering. I think it has something to do with eliminating easy forms of gratification you can get alone. I stopped playing video games months ago and it has absolutely made me less awkward and much more genuinely interested in other people. I'm still not at the point where I've caught a bunch of people in my orbit, though. I'm still trying to break on through to the other side where I'm the "job-creator", so to speak, of my …

Hard work is a luxury for past generations. The problem my lost generation has to deal with now is figuring out what the fuck to even work hard towards. We aren't limited by geography anymore. The internet is always making us doubt ourselves. Want to be a doctor? What about all those guys in the forum who said they wasted 40 years of their lives slaving away for a bunch of ingrates? Want to learn German? What about that fascinating country Japan that looks like a great place to live a meaningful…

This sounds like me. When I cut out all forms of entertainment I enjoy alone the day I have an engagement, I usually perform very well. Like when a bunch of friends were helping my roommates and I move out and stayed with us. But that's only when there's an arrangement. I'm still trying to figure out how to make my social instincts to engaging strangers inevitable, if that's even possible as a fellow INTJ. It's hard to fight 22 years of extreme introversion. It's not even an issue of working har…

The whole dopamine idea is starting to get associated with pseudoscience but there is something behind the idea of having a limited amount of enjoyment in a day. If you masturbate and watch porn, you're going to enjoy reading a book a lot less. You set the bar for stimulation and it can be hard to leap the hurdle, especially for a something with a slow cook or delayed grat. If you spend too much of it on cheap little diversions like bejeweled or Netflix, you're gonna have less for reading and me…

Look, some people will put a fist through the wall if they don't wank for two weeks. I'm not one of those people, but oddly I'm more likely to have angry outbusrt, or punch objects around me in the days after fapping. Almost like I'm compensating for my insecurities by being loud and shit. Holy fuck I'm not the only one. I read all the time about people becoming sad and indifferent and shit, but I'm the opposite. I become a charmless, angry piece of shit who can't let anything go.

I think you're missing the point. Porn is a major barrier for those who aren't already in the sex game. It nullifies desire and kills ability. If you're already slaying pussy, yeah, death grip is gonna be the thing that matters and not the PMO itself. But if you're trying to make the uphill climb to Mount Fuck, it only makes it steeper.

Exactly. Their thirst sky-rockets but their worship-mindset stays the same. If you have a RP mindset but suddenly have the thirst, you can actually be productive with it and not self-destructive.

"I hate to break it to you, but there is no big lie, there is no system, the universe is indifferent." - Don Draper I realize the irony of quoting this but it's 100% relevant in this case. Nobody is trying to brainwash anybody. Media is a business and comfort sells, even if it isn't the truth.

I always use the chieftain test whenever two men are competing for the same girl. In this case, what would have been more like the alpha male of a tribe to do: a) focus on one girl, putting all of your energy into making sure she had a good time or b) judge her like just another woman, as if he had all the pussy he needed and was simply keeping the tribe in check? Obviously your zeroing-in gambit can work in isolation, but it becomes a matter of who is more of the commander when around other men…

Women tend to confuse correlation with causation more than men. I don't think the size queens actually give much of a shit. They're just not into the man fucking them and see a small dick which stands out, no pun intended, so they point to the dick as the problem. Penetration alone doesn't cause female orgasm anyway, most of the time, unless you have superb, scientific form and technique, which is not what most people having sex will be doing. If you are being the natural dom and she the sub, yo…

I heard it put this way: women talk to get something, not communicate. Her words are only vessels for an agenda, which is why men tend to be defeated by them; their minds can only process so much and they focus on the flares instead of the Apache firing at them. It takes a highly disciplined and finesse mind to work around them.

Yeah, existentialism was never about freeing yourself from the responsibility to accomplish anything of worth because life is meaningless, it was about giving you full responsibility for every action you take because life has no meaning. It's up to each person to create that meaning for themselves and others. As the famous saying goes, "we are all enslaved to freedom".

All music isn't necessary reflective of what the song-writer believes or is actually thinking. You can always choose to listen to music as a sort of historical or cultural document of a certain idea or frame of thinking. Satire is also a thing.

Personally, when I think of someone who doesn't shower often, I think of neckbeards who you can smell with the force of a semi-truck when you stand next to them and it is not pleasant at all. They're always oblivious of it, too. Then again, it could be attractive for females, for all I know. But the people I'm talking about usually are not even close to being ideal male suitors, so I don't know. Or I could just be overestimating the number of showers needed to maintain a neutral, "natural" state…

That was what I thought. The voice of OP seems completely out of line with the voice I'm used to hearing in this thread. It's so lacking in any skepticism and criticism whatsoever to the point of being sycophantic. Sounds like a paid marketer trying to infiltrate one of the most notoriously rigid communities to me. We don't excuse women so much as accept it. There's no use in trying to change what can't be changed. The moment you allow yourself to think this as a beginner is the moment you stop working towards changing your mindset towards the truth. If a glimmer of hope about the possibility of true, unconditional love exists, you'll rationalize yourself out of cleaning out the mental pantry. That's not to say we don't think certain actions can be taken to mitigate human nature.

Taking an evolutionary perspective on things always helps to make sense of the world. Women are needy because the ones who were more likely to have survived, along with their children, were the ones who badgered the alpha male(s) for resources, attention, and manpower. The sweet, quiet chicks may have been socially-intelligent and altruistic, but she was less likely to survive in times of need when people were clawing over one another. Make no mistake: just like men have an inexhaustible capacit…

Self-delusion is exactly what founders of trp weren't doing when they came to the conclusions we all now take for granted. I don't recommend putting mindset before feeling. Confidence should arise naturally out of discipline and hard-work, not American Psycho-esque mantras. If you've been going to the gym for the last six months and being social on a regular basis, you won't have to convince yourself of anything. You'll know.

Pretty much. Europeans succeeded mostly because they evolved obsession and specialization which is a massively mobilizing social force. Africans never got to the point Europeans did and their evolution got fucked up when Europeans came and essentially bred slaves for nothing but obedience and physical prowess. Westerners are violent as fuck but they keep it bottled deep within. And yet they call the blacks "savages". We're no better. We're just different. I honestly can't say the average English…

So being obsessed about something (according to my own terms) is bad in the long run, rather try to keep your passion about it. The word you're looking for is discipline. Passion is fleeting but discipline is rock-solid.

Start with wikipedia. The idea is that melanin in the skin protects it from UV damage. So in Africa, where blacks are, since they spend a huge portion of their time under the direct rays, they need more protection. The catch is, when they move to places where sunlight is less, they can't get as much as whites can in the same amount of time. Black skin = more protection. White skin = more sensitivity. Luckily if you have dark skin nowadays there are tons of options in supplementation and dieting.…
