I'm glad you have a therapist and friends. It sounds like the anger/silent treatment/PA pattern goes back quite a while (pre-menopause). Not to be an armchair psychologist, but is it possible she's a narcissist or has tendencies? I'd also be looking at the dynamic between your primary caregivers and you. Unfortunately a lot of us chase what feels familiar.

Keep reading. The two primary hormones that decline in menopause are estrogen and progesterone. To a lesser extent, a decline in testosterone plays a role. Estrogen and progesterone are separate hormones. Progesterone does not "address the lack of estrogen."When a woman who has a uterus goes on estrogen, she also has to go on progesterone to protect against uterine cancer. (Estrogen builds up the lining and cells can go haywire.)

She's on progesterone, which can actually exacerbate depression It's the other way around. Declining progesterone is what can cause or exacerbate depression, anxiety, insomnia... If she's on progesterone, she's obviously also on estrogen. So she is, in fact, treating menopause symptoms.

I suggest you do not bring up/blame menopause, especially with her mom, jeez. These guys love to point the blame at women's hormonal shift instead of looking in the mirror. It's beside the point anyway--she's gone. Not ordering food for you was -- oof -- though.

Don't they come home during breaks though? You said they were around this summer. Kids in college view the family home as "home" and --especially now--they may not be able to afford a post-college apartment etc.
