This confuses me. Nobody has to press charges for you to be convicted. The state can do it without any provocation. Something else must have been revealed in the case. Maybe the parents found out she lied and told the judge because I find it very hard to believe that after everyone recited their testimony, and the judge ripped you a new one, they suddenly decided you didn't need to be punished.
