Thanks! I'm so glad it occurred to me to ask FDS, and that you're on here with your expertise. I'm definitely keeping my guard up to what is hopefully a reasonable level. My previous parking spot was on a woman's acre, behind a locked gate, and I guess it made me a little too soft. I think/hope I'm recalibrated now, though. Saving your username while hoping to never need it. That's really generous of you.

I haven't read that book in years, and clearly it's time to revisit it. Thanks for the reminder! Maybe another reading will help me take my feelings more seriously.

I'm definitely doing that in the future and am really looking forward to it. Currently, though, I have an 11 year-old, very spoiled cat whom I love far too much to introduce a rowdy new "sibling" to.

That is TERRIFYING! I'm so sorry you went through that and hope you're ok, now. Jesus. I hate men. "Fuck off" message has been sent, landlord has been informed, and you've just inspired me to bring my precious handgun upstairs to bed with me every night, at least until he moves out.

That's a great idea, but part of me thinks that a notification if he tries to contact me might serve as some kind of warning, like I can brace myself if he's having a tantrum, etc. I texted my landlord with a screenshot, including my "fuck off" message. He's a boomer and keeps odd hours, so I'm not sure he's seen it yet, but he's intelligent and has explicitly said how much he loves having me as a tenant and hopes I'll stick around until I graduate, so I expect he'll do what he feels is necessar…

Thank you!! Done, doing, and doing. So grateful to this community. I had a feeling that my "ignore and avoid" instinct might have not been the smartest move.

You're right; I'll be less polite and snitch ASAP, screenshots and all. My trailer is no less secure than a house, locks-wise, with a loaded pistol when I'm home, a Ring security system when I'm not, and an impenetrable lock on the tow hitch. I'm in a nice, quiet, low-crime neighborhood with friendly neighbors and a landlord who's always home keeping an eye on things. I like my living situation.

Draft of text message: I hope whatever emergency you must have had last night was resolved. I don't like getting texts in the middle of the night, or getting 5 calls in a row ever, but especially not at 2:30 am. That is not neighborly behavior, and makes me very uncomfortable. Please don't contact me again. y/n?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
