Just let her know what you are willing to do and have her pick. Food, shopping, cleaning, laundry, watching TV with her while she is trapped under a nursing baby, taking a walk... Etc

Ina May's guide to child birth and her guide to breastfeeding are both wonderful.

We ask the birthing mother to work around the institution - we should be asking the institution to work around the birthing mother. Paraphrased from a wonderful Dr who I got to speak on a panel with about the medicalization of child birth. His research is on how the institution has basically taking away women's autonomy and ignored women for the sake of the baby. And of course the baby is important but you dont have to ignore the mother to provide good care.

Same. I handle day to day finances with a set budget and he does long term financial planning and savings. So for example he puts say 3k in a joint checking account and I manage the whole home on that. Monthly bills, discretionary spending, kid activities, etc.

You aren't alone. So many couple struggle to conceive. It's a topic our society doesn't really talk about. 💚 just keep focusing on this as a team. The two of you verses the problem.

I don't greet him at the door. I usually take the kid into his room to play with toys and give my husband a minute to come home, set his stuff down, go the bathroom, sort the mail (he gets it on his way in) and do other things. Then he usually comes in the room once he has had his minute to switch from work brain to home brain.

My husband's parent died sort of suddenly when we were engaged. You need someone you can lean on so than he in turn can lean on you. Remeber all people grieve differently. So let him grieve however he wants. Does he want to talk? Listen. Does he want to not talk and play loud music and ignore you for awhile. Let him. People will ask you how he is doing. They will give you advice like "he needs to talk about it" ignore then. He will when he's ready. He should be allowed to control how and when he…

I agree with fecundissimus that it's deeply personal and can wait. A mature man should see the benefits in what you are doing and respect you for it even if he doesnt fully understand through any personal experience. Good for you NST! What you have done is true, deep, selfcare. You should be very proud of your self.

I'm saying we strive not to get sucked into this socially acceptable bitchiness. Lots of women do this even those who have never heard of The Red Pill or view TRP in a sour light because it's full of misogynistic alphalphas So. Let's say someone spends their whole life striving to be kind. They work toward not being jelous of other people's lives or belongings. They respect those around them. They volunteer and donate their time and money toward the less fortunate. That person shows Christian tr…

You seem hung up on the labels. We simply strive to build up our husband and support him through our biological and personal differences. Respecting that he sees and shows love in his own unique way. We see that the more we build him up with love and respect the better our relationship. We also understand we have flaws that he doesn't and we are partners. We are both very important in the relationship but We are not equal because we are not interchangeable.

Interesting. Maybe it's in the way you present it. Do you feel your way of living, your relationship, is the superior way of doing things?

I've read your post like 3 times ... Why do you care what others think of you division of labor? All that matters is does it work for you? If the answer is yes then you are doing it right. If the answer is no then you need a conversation with your husband.

Youre doing what i use to do!! You are so in love with the idea of your husband. You see all this potential in him and you want THAT husband You need to stop and look at who he is right now, today, exactly in this moment - and choose to love THAT man. You didnt marry his potential you married him. "Knowing that we can be loved exactly as we are gives us all the best opportunity for growing into the healthiest of people." - Fred Rogers.

I would literally collapse if my husband didn't lift a finger. He lives here he chips in. For example - at bedtime I nurse and rock the toddler to sleep while my husband picks up the living room and puts dinner away. He loads the dishwasher and wipes down the counters and table. This team work allows us to both relax and be together once Fishy is asleep.

A couple good books got me through the 4th trimester. I highly recommend Womenly Art of Breastfeeding as the hands down best breastfeeding boom as well as Baby Calm by Sarah Ockwell Smith.

I would avoid the sage tea but also see if you have a local LLL meeting you could attend. I over produced at first until around 2-3m when I started block feeding. So basically since Fishy only nurses one side I would only nurse the left from 1pm-3pm and then only the right from 3pm-5pm and then only the left from 5pm-7pm etc. It took a few days but my supply regulated. I also had a heavy letdown so it helped that, too.

No birth control. 2 months. We use a mix of NFP and add condoms when I'm close to or at peak.

You might just be an over producer. Are you nursing on demand or also pumping? Did you pump in the first 6 weeks?

How do you curb those desires to take care of the man you hope things work out with early on? I don't curb it - I never did. Acts of service is my love language - it's who I am - it's a very big part of my self and personality. So I didn't shy away. I didn't do his laundry but I was happy to make him dinner all the freaking time. I loved leaving notes on his car in the parking lot at school letting him know what I was making for dinner. He would text me if he wanted to join. It was a fun game we…

I'm a full time homemaker. I handle most of the chores inside the house and a number outside (but I don't garden - I'd just kill it all). I keep the house picked up on a daily basis. I also deep clean one room a day. (Example Friday I clean the bathroom). I vacuum the house 2-3x a week. I try not to leave a lot of chores for the weekend but some weeks it happens. Laundry is typically on the weekend so If I can get through the two loads on Friday then it makes the weekends less busy. I do almost …

Simply put you can not know if you do not ask. You can always tell your SO that you are feeling insecure and nervous. It's up to him what he does with that information. But these are your feelings and valid as they might be you are choosing to be in a relationship with someone who is still friendly with his ex. He will usually say something nice to me (like that I'm easily happy, low maintenance) and then compares it to how he was always fighting with his ex and she'd get upset at him easily. …

Having a list - having a plan will always help you feel less rushed. It's something that evolves with time what works today compared to what works tomorrow. Now that I'm a full time homemaker I find I'm able to do more shopping during the day while my husband is at work instead of our usual Sunday morning weekly run. We have always had a grocery list next to the refrigerator that we populate during the week. But now since I might run to the store on a random Tuesday my husband uses Google Keep a…

My husband knows my cycle - he knows when I am on my period and when I ovulate because we use natural family planning methods plus condoms for backup during peak (we're not Catholic I just really dislike hormonal BC). I don't get into the bloody details - but he has say in our family planning and reproductive choices so it's important he has the facts. He was with me at all my prenatal appointments as well. He saw the baby come out. It's life - he's a man. He can handle it. When it comes to comm…

I love my husband's opinion when I go shopping. I send texts from the dressing room all the time. I think he just has a really great eye for what looks good on me. What's funny is when he buys something for me I'm not really thrilled with it at first, and then weeks later I realize it's my new favorite piece and I've been wearing it nonstop. He just sees something I don't - I've never been into fashion or makeup or those kinds of things. I don't dress particularly girly. I enjoy comfortable outd…
