People in poor countries have no shortage of time to spend with their children or on cheap hobbies. Most don't have rent or property tax to pay, and meeting their daily needs costs them almost nothing in their own currency. Human society was built off of multigenerational households with grandparents helping raise children, and parents taking care of their parents.
