2	Double standards in sports No I've never heard of him, but that sounds interesting. I just took from some commentary I read recently (probably on Reddit) about how mens' lives are subconsciously discounted when compared to womens', like where the man is expected to die protecting their woman and are shamed if they fail to do so. 7	Double standards in sports I don't meant to inject a more unsavory opinion in here but I think a lot of that has to do with how men are seen as expendable in this society. Men have to "prove", more so than women, that they bring some value to society. Women bring value just on virtue of being able to bear children; men do not have that, and so must find other ways to prove they deserve to be here, in a Malthusian-Darwinian sense. And then there's the question of whether government should be the arbiter of morality, in the case of your third point. 1	The double standard of having a choice on whether or not you want to be a parent. Nobody here is arguing that. It's universally agreed here (if anyone does not agree, feel free to chime in) that the woman should have the final say in whether to carry a child to term or not. To say anything else would be barbaric. The issue being disputed is whether men should be forced to pay child support if the mother decides to have the child, not whether men should have the right to choose whether to have the baby.
