It is legal in Iowa. The age of consent is 16 there. The issue is that she's a teacher and he's a student and that she sent pornography of some kind to a minor.

Yeah, but that's probably not a Bud Light or a similar trash beer. When I lived in Miami, you would pay $15 for a a Bud Light on South Beach. I was charged close to $10 for a Heineken in Brickell and almost $20 for a double gin and tonic.

the protections do not actually count as civil liberties or equal protection cases. Except age is a protected class: EEOC link. And googling "is age a protected class in employment" yields this link to the Department of Labor.
