You're manufacturing excuses. It's a kid. A kid. Think about it. He/she cares about their happiness. That's it. Stop working so hard to justify divorce. Put that king of effort into saving the marriage. Your kid will thank you....

That's an excuse. It's not "better for the kid". No chance. Best for the kid is 2 loving parents in 1 house. Unless there is abuse going on.

It doesn't "need to be done". Fix it. There is a way, unless there's been cheating or physical abuse.

Not trying to come down on you or make life harder.....but you absolutely have to do a DNA test. Have to.

Get back in the house. What do you mean "she kicked me out of the house". You're married. It's your house.

You gotta stop talking and thinking this way. I don't want you to do something irrational. You're in a tough situation.....we all get it. You have to work through this tough time. Keep your head up, take care of your kids, respect people, set some attainable short term goals. Do not make a rash or impulsive decision. You have a life to live.....position you and your kids for success. The only real form of revenge is "Living Well". Commit to that.

How old are you? That shit can happen. Buy some blue chew. It's cheap, easy to get, easy to use, and really effective. Grab some...,,

Dude- move on quickly, and start a new life. File for divorce, no reason at attend this dumb 4th of July party. You're very fortunate that you don't have kids. Move on quickly and build your new life. Good things are ahead for you, no reason to delay them by going to a pointless 4th of July party at her family's house.

The only option is to move. What's your field? Find a new job. Find a suitable home for you and the girls. That's the only play.

I disagree w this. Respectfully.

My situation is eerily similar. My wife is a long time alcoholic. Just got back from a 4-week stint in an expensive rehab. Hates me now more than ever. Literally says "my family hates you". No cheating. No drinking. No drugs. High earner. In shape. Hang in there man. You're not alone. My daughter is 7. It's hard facing divorce w her that young. Hopefully your kids are older. Hang in there. Good luck.

Fix your marriage man. You married her. You knocked her up. Figure out a way to make it work. Or else....that $94K is gonna be $50K. And you'll see your kids 3 days a week. And oh ya....another dude will be in the house raising your kids. Think about your future state, if you end up divorced. Fix your marriage.

This all must've have happened or is happening to the OP. Why else would he post that nonsense? You can have a conversation about it without coming off like such a jerk.

It's crystal clear you got cheated on. Don't be so bitter man. It seems like you hate women. Coming here won't make you feel less angry. Stop pretending.

Cheating is serious shit. It's ugly as ugly gets. Stop assuming. You guys know next to nothing about the situation. You're not helping the OP by jumping right to "she was cheating". Your takes are soft.
/r/Divorce_Men21/01/25 04:47 AM

Cmon. You don't know that. You're just speculating. Have some respect for the OP. The OP came here and posted in good faith, and you put that crap into his head. Just wrong. Just because you couldn't satisfy your wife and got cheated on....doesn't mean that's everyone's reality.

I support that. Everything about it. I hope you have that moment.

Then fight to get her back. Until she's married to someone else, pursue her. It might take years....but what else are you going to do?

Get real. This guy at most has his kids 50%.....but time with his yoga teacher "friend" is more important. "Send the kids to grandmas.....I'm gonna act like a 24 year old and try to score with this chick at the beach". Go hang w yoga teacher when kids are with Mom. This "dad" is soft. Truth hurts.

To be honest- you should've been with your kids. Kids "at your parents" while you're "killing time" with a new prospective girlfriend? Be better man.

She’s wrong. But you’re having secret conversations and relations with other women…..you’re wrong too. You’re both problematic. Shitty partners.

Divorce her and move on. You seem like a smart guy, and a good guy. Leave her behind and go live a better life. Be a great Dad. Focus at work. Focus on being the best person you can be. Make this next chapter in your life a great one. Go be great. I’m sorry this happened. But….it’s not what happens, but rather how you respond to what happens. Set goals for yourself and stay focused. Grey rock your ex.

“Another lap in purgatory”. That phrase is so good. Applicable to probably a lot of us. Build a plan and execute it. Your life is going to be different and better in the very near future. Stay focused. Good times are coming for you.

What are you waiting for man? Your story makes sense. Go get her. Own your mistakes. Commit to being a better version of yourself than you’ve ever been, and go get your life back. You shouldn’t have to move mountains to make this work again.

No prob man. Reach out anytime. I don’t know much about your situation, but maybe you sell the house? Make some cash, and get a place for you and your daughter. Keep it clean. Keep it organized. Make it her “home”. Start a project or 2. Build off of that. She’ll notice and eventually see how hard you’ve worked for her……and like I said: you’ll die respected and loved. What’s better than that?
/r/Divorce_Men19/11/23 06:11 PM

Your daughter needs you. Everyday. You don’t have to be rich. Commit to being the best dad you can, and do not relent. She needs you. Find work. Set a budget. Begin to save and invest, slowly but surely. You’ll settle into a rhythm and find your way. You’re a good dude. Commit to being “that” daily. Your daughter will always remember you being “you” and always being there for her. You’ll die a happy man, who’s respected and loved. What else could you ask for?!?!?! Hang in there man. You don’t ha…

No……he’s not those things. He’s flawed and imperfect like all of us. Don’t let your mind play games with you. I’m quite confident that this fling won’t last.

Slow down man. It’s going to take time. It’s not your fault, but it’s your reality. Accept it, and view it as an opportunity. Convert the anger to energy and focus. Set goals, and become a better man and Father. You’re going to have tough moments. Tough days. It’ll happen. You can’t just erase 20 years worth of feelings. No one can. Set goals. Become “better” at everything. Hang in there man. You can do it, but you’ve got to stay laser focused.

You’re not weak nor a failure either way. If you want to be w your Ex….do it, and don’t feel bad. If she’s your person, then she’s your person.

I read the history. You gotta work through this. Your husband reacted inappropriately, and was wrong. But you can fix this. Get into counseling. Don’t do this to your kids. This should be salvageable.

Perhaps. I guess I don’t totally disagree. But just so I’m clear: if there is a sheet of paper, in a Govt office that proclaims “you’re married”….that takes precedent over the 2 adults involved agreeing to date other people?
/r/Divorce_Men14/10/23 04:32 PM

Get real. You don’t know this. You’re a scorned male. Soft.
/r/Divorce_Men14/10/23 12:54 PM

It’s not adultery…..they agreed to separate. Both were actively dating. Adults who date, typically have sex. OP has a decision to make. He comes here for advice, and he gets a bunch of women hating jerks making it about “them”. Soft.

This is too good. You immediately respond that “she still wanted to sleep with you”. Sure. Did you forget that you got “kicked out”? Was it her house? How and why did she kick you out? Point of my comment: you were way you harsh on a guy who came here seeking real advice. You laughed at him too. You seem like a great guy, “bruh”.
/r/Divorce_Men14/10/23 12:49 PM

Ok “bruh” Your wife “kicked you out”. Let’s here this one. You sound soft. She was banging a dude within a week? Seems clear that you couldn’t satisfy her.

What is “it”? Had sex with another adult while separated?
/r/Divorce_Men14/10/23 12:15 PM

Yeah, hopefully he finds a virgin. Nice advice, softie.

Most of you guys are pathetic. Nothing but negativity here. So what she had sex with another guy. Maybe OP fucks her 10x better, and now she knows it. You guys are jerks and constantly jump to conclusions, usually negative. How many of you softies got cheated on and humiliated? And now you’re full of anger and resent? Sorry you picked the wrong partner and then failed at reconciling. It works for some people. OP- OK, she had sex with another guy. You were separated. She’s a damn adult, and adult…

The minute you bust a load in a female, you take the risk that she could get pregnant, then you, as a man, are on the hook to be a Father. You made a mistake giving her so much time. Move to where your kids are. Ask for 50%, and take her ass to court if she says no. Don’t abandon your kids. You’ll end up regretting it. There’ll be hard and tough moments, but it’ll all end il worth it. Be their Dad. They need you. F your wife and the affair partner. They aren’t and can’t be “you”. Good luck. Keep…

She is his problem now. Play it cool, and trust God’s plan. You’re moving on to better things. He can deal with the cheater. She’ll cheat on him too. It’s a matter of time.

So what you can to fix the relationship. Unless there is cheating or drug/alcohol use….I’d try again to get back on track. Divorce is nasty and your kids are young. It’s going to hurt like hell when the kids are completely away from you 3-5 days a week.

Realistically, who cares if it’s your bday. You’re an adult man…..be solid and a great version of “you” everyday. Your birthday is just another damn day. Soft men want preferential treatment on their birthdays. Don’t be that.

Divorce her today. She’s not a partner you want. You’ll do better. And NO, you’re absolutely not a POS.

Try yoga. Not sure if that’s your thing or not, but find a studio (maybe even bikram/hot yoga), and jump in head first and do it. It’ll help. You’ll become a different and better person. You’ll cope with what happened.

You’re wrong. You gotta look, walk, talk, be elite. If you’re “average”, then prepare for a tough road. There are more guys than girls on the apps. They’ve got a lot of options.
