I think it can be a good experience for a couple of years but it's not all sunshine and roses. Couple of things: Supplementing income: working legally in most places you mentioned isn't that easy, you need a different kind of visa and sponsorship from an employer. Not likely for bartending, scuba instructor etc... which opens up for potential hassle. Usually from other jealous expats that rat you out. Healthcare: if you're young you can probably do fine but proper health insurance can add a few …

Hilarious reading in the Twitter thread https://twitter.com/auntanxiety/status/1021891011600166913

Now you have kids so I guess it's more difficult but for me it would matter how "emotional" the affair was. There's some difference between "I want your dick in my ass" and "I miss you honey". In the former case I would be looking for an attorney.... and in the latter ask her to block (and verify later). The final goodbye for closure is bullshit if you ask me. I was actually in a somewhat similar situation of wife in emotional affair with guy far away while implementing improvement plan. I didn'…

A lot of these comments hit home, but being over the cliff already is a great description of the situation. Believe it or not, I saw her sending messages to the guy a few hours after making the post - sobered me right up! All the nostalgia washed away, an illusion was really all it was. She's just placating me to keep the status quo until she's tried out the guy and is ready to swing branch.

Aren't you forgetting that she is already getting half your shit even without alimony? So if you actually were successful and invested/saved that money she is already getting a "fair" share of what she "helped" earn. What you earn after the divorce she hasn't got part in.

Not much background to go on but if your situation permits try getting a (part-time) job where you have to interact face to face with a lot of people. Customer service at an Apple shop or whatever. You get to practice approaching people, your selling skills and occasionally deal with difficult people. It will give repeated exposure in a fairly low pressure environment.

Yes, you asked what benefit it could be to give the reason, that's the one I could come up with - I'm not saying I am choosing this option. I'm still leaning towards radio silence and letting the legal part run its own course through counsel. Then your second half I'm honestly not sure I understand which side your arguing for. The linked "divorce, done right" did involve him confronting her with screenshots? And I didn't see any follow up saying his (ex)wife did anything to fight the divorce or …

So I have given that some thought and the one thing I came up with is that if I don't give a reason and basically ghost her, and she feels confident that I don't know about the affair, she might spread some news in our social circles about how I just upped and abandoned her and paint me as the bad guy. At that point it doesn't leave me with much options than to either try to ignore that, own it or defend it by saying that I got cucked. I don't owe anyone an explanation but through my work I may …

Thanks, much appreciated - makes total sense. Sex frequency has already been decreasing since I initiate most times and kind of lost interest in her. I can blame high workload and stress for not being in the mood (if she raises any issue). Truth is probably best as you say. Come to think of it, if she knows I know it may motivate her to smooth out the process to keep it quiet. I have no plans to tell others anything else than that it just didn't work out (well except everyone on mrp), it's out p…
