What "wrong instructions" does TRP include? Pretty much everything related to "objective" perception of peoples behavior and pretty much everything on long-term relationships. political views you personally disagree with Facts aren't something you can agree or disagree with. Lots of TRP is just wrong, incredibly bad statistics and a heap of confirmation bias. I mean you're welcome to base your worldview on things you would like to be true, but that doesn't mean your worldview has any merit.

If the worst parts of an orginazation are its unique and defining parts, what does that say about an organization? In your medical textbook analogy: how good is a textbook that is 70% already known (but correct) information and 30% wrong instructions on how to perform a surgery?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/03/18 09:04 PM

The point of is when arguing the effectiveness and merit of TRP. Too often do people use the "common sense/found everywhere" parts to justify that TRP has merit and then use that to legitimize the other parts of TRP. In the end, the defining characteristics of a movement/idea is what sets is apart from other ideas. For TRP that means the sexist and bad ideas is what defines it. Therefore, I think its important that we don't give TRP merit because it happens to include some good advice thats foun…

The 10 commandments is a christian thing. What the commandments actually say isn't christian. If I go about my day not cheating on my gf and not murdering people, does that mean I'm practicing christianity? I don't think so.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/03/18 07:52 PM
10

None of those things are really red pill ideas. Yeah, TRP preaches them, but that's like saying "Don't murder your neighbour" is a Christian idea. Practically everything you mention is present in one form or another in tons of self-improvement/dating advice.

Men are quite logical, so it necessarily follows that men would want something that's deductive and statistical. The fact that TRP thinks this about themselves is a good start about why people don't like TRP. That is a serious answer by the way. Apart from the fact if TRP is actually true or not, anyone with actual logical and critical thinking sees right through the biases and blatant misuse of statistics that TRP uses. TRP users absolutely do not want to hear logic and such. They want to hear …

I don't think it stands for anything specifically, except the general thing of fighting for women's rights. How far they'll go and whether or not they'll include men depends on the particular part of the feminist movement. There are so many people who call themselves feminists, all with different opinions about it, some louder than others, that it's impossible to define what or who feminism truly stands for. Does it stand for every woman? For black woman specifically? For woman who don't have a …

Why a legal shift? There is no law that discriminates against fathers. It needs a cultural shift. Not just from the courts, but from society.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/17 05:17 PM
1

Absolutely agreed
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/17 02:29 PM
1

Mostly it does, because mostly the mother is the primary caregiver. I'd love to see more fathers become primary caregivers though. But that would require a culture shift.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/17 02:29 PM
3

Obviously, but defaulting to equally split custosy also isn't in the best interest of the child. Best is parents stay together. If that doesn't work out, I think one parent should get primary (and thus most) custody. Most of the time, that should be the mother, especially with young children, because she usually takes care of the children the most. If the father is the primary caregiver, he should get primary custody of course. And if the child is older (say 12 and up) they should decide themsel…
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/17 01:27 PM
5

Yeah, I think that it should side with the parent that spends the most time with the kid. I dont think men who choose to have a full time career with a stay at home wife deserve 50% custody automatically (unless she's a shitty mom ofcourse). I feel that too often in discussions like these both mra's and feminists put their own interests (i want the child!) above the interests of the child.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/17 12:53 PM
9

Guarantee split custody This I take issue with, because I feel that is about what would be best for you not best for the child. If you (or your ex) live four hours away, do you send the child do a different school on different days? I believe its best for the child if either the parents keep living close to each other or one parent gets primary custody. Just defaulting to split custody no matter what is very egoistical if you ask me.

Again, you either live in a way different society or you're not looking very well.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/17 02:47 PM
2

Then you're simply not looking. I had a fat dude in class when I was 17 and that guy always had a hot girlfriend. You know why? Cause he had pretty much godlike social skills and a great sense of humor. The irony is he's now a bodybuilder, heavily muscled and single. I mean of course losing weight will help you. But if a fat guy asks for advice, the assumption is that he already knows losing weight will help, and that he is either trying or doesn't want to do that. So you give him advice that he…
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/17 02:24 PM
2

Its not common advice because fat people almost always know that losing weight would make them more attractive. It's like telling a musician who wants to be better that he needs to practise. No shit he knows that, you better tell him something he might not know.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/17 08:39 PM
2

I think 99% of fat people know they'd be more attractive if they lost weight. No to mention the elephant when they are well aware of it
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/17 06:33 PM

and doesn't correctly identify how important being in good shape is. I mean look around you in the real world. Plenty of fat men/just normal shaped men with very hot girlfriends. I'd looks are important, but not that important. Of course there's a baseline, but you can compensate a lot with social skills/humor/status.

Based on what? Awhile ago I saw an RP on this sub claiming that some research proved that men do worse after a breakup. Now you claim the opposite. Care backing that up, or is that just based on your perceptions (aka, not objective)

While feminism isn't as needed as it once was, the idea of "legal equality = full equality nothing else needed" is really wrong.

Yeah. I dont known if they have an easier time getting good casual sex though. Anyway, what does that have to do with my point?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/01/17 03:58 PM

Still meaning it tells men what they want to hear. The general assumption on TRP is that men need to work harder than women for anything. So when a TRP'er achieves something equally succesful as a women they can tell themselves they did a much better job, since they were at a disadvantage to begin with. For the type of men TRP attracts, this is exactly what they want to hear
/r/PurplePillDebate13/01/17 11:50 AM
10

In a way, TRP actually absolves you of responsibility. They tell you right in the sidebar that "male sexuality is oppressed". This is the exact same thing the SJW's on Tumblr do. They tell themselves they're oppressed. It makes for an easy lie. After all, once you believe that men (or male sexuality) is oppressed in our social culture, you can blame that for at least part of your failures. Also, by painting women as manipulating, cheating and hypergamous people, they're practically telling dudes…

This survey found a clear correlation between a higher partner count and a higher likelihood of cheating in women. It is however important to note that correlation does not imply causation. It is possible that higher partner count is often be the cause of a certain personality and that that same personality is the cause for more cheating. In this (hypothetical) case, higher partner count does not cause cheating, and if you want to select for a woman who doesn't cheat, you're better off selecting…

That is changing, depending on where you live though. In less conservative areas, girls do plenty of approaching. I mean, they won't do all the work, but they initiate just as well. Well you have to look sort of approachable of course and you know actually show yourself in some way that you can be approached, but that should be doable for everyone.

No, I don't think so. That's also what I said, a nuclear family can be great for a child, but only if the family stays together because they all want to. Like I said "The nuclear family is a fine ideal, but it should not come at any cost"
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/17 11:10 PM

And how will that translate in more sex with unattractive men? Or is this just a revenge fantasy against Chad?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/17 05:02 PM

Because if it's not infinite it's finite. That's what words mean.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/17 05:01 PM
1

You really think if we totally do away with regulations anyone can accrue as much wealth as they'd like?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/17 05:01 PM
2

I never said it was a fixed pie with slices. Just because wealth can grow/shrink doesn't mean there is infinite wealth.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/17 04:55 PM
2

And I assume that you are aware that even though we can transform resources and increase their value, we can't do that to infinity. Take land for example. If you express wealth as amount of land possessed, it is finite. There is a finite amount of land on earth. What concrete thing here do you think is infinite?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/17 04:48 PM
3

One where women are slut shamed So they'll have less sex? I don't see how that improves your chances buddy.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/17 04:43 PM
3

The earth literally has finite resources. A very large amount, but finite. Wealth, if you express it as the posession of resources is therefore finite. It has huge potential for growth, but it's still finite in the end.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/17 04:42 PM

Pretty much everyone with whom I've spoken about the issue over the years. No offense, but then you need to find a better social circle Go look in a mirror. You are perfectly aware of the treatment that sexually unsuccessful men receive in society, "I can't show you, but you know it's true!!"

I think that you can both be pleased with your position and want more at the same time. If have a nice dinner I can be completely pleased, while still acknowlegding to myself that I could have had an even better dinner if I made something else.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/17 04:15 PM

Even on reddit, I think most men are pleased. It's just that people who are pleased generally don't post about it, while people who are not pleased do complain about it. Bias at work.

You're assuming that two ugly people having sex with each other is a lot lower quality than two hot people. There may be some truth to that, but the quality of sex is decided by A LOT more than how the person looks like. But, yes, if you're ugly you'll have a harder time getting laid, sure. That's just a consequence of a free society, where other people have the freedom not to sleep with you. I think we can agree that personal freedom is more important than the ability to get laid easily.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/17 04:11 PM

Who is demanding an argument for that? Show me all these people that won't stop shaming sexually unattractive men. And not people that shame unattractive men that are also assholes, but pure shaming because they're unattractive. Because I don't think that happens too much. And of course some shitty people exist, but we both already knew that.

you can use up desire for sex, which creates fewer sex units Generally, peoples desire for sex replenishes really quick. But I guess that for one day, you're right. People don't have infinite sex on one day, so there would theoretically be a finite amount. Still, I think the argument stands. They "poor" unsexy ones can still see what sexy looks like, will want that sex, and not get it. Here's the thing. Most people, including the poor unsexy ones, are in a relationship with someone who is about …

Allright, everybody has the freedom to try and have sex. That sound better then? Because that's still a lot more freedom than if you use regulation on sexual stuff. And to be honest, the vast majority of adults have had sex at some point. Maybe not with the hottest people around, but you can't have it all.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/17 03:56 PM

Hey, I never said wealth can't grow. What I did say is that there is a finite amount of wealth. We can make it grow quickly or slowly, or have it decrease, but the amount on a given moment is finite. And besides that, deregulation will just lead to the rich getting relatively richer and the poor getting relatively poorer. So even if there was infinite wealth, the distribution in a completely unregulated environment is getting worse and that is bad news for the lower classes
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/17 03:36 PM
5

Well I think most people agree with you there. What's the problem? You're never gonna get the most hardcore feminist/SJW's to admit that, just like you're never gonna get hardcore MRA's/Redpillers to admit that they might be wrong on some things. But there's stupid people on the planet, ain't you or me gonna change that.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/17 03:34 PM
9

But its not exercising freedom if not everyone can do it equally. Yes it is. Everyone has the freedom to run a marathon. The fact that not everyone can doesn't mean that there isn't the freedom to do it or at least try it.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/17 03:23 PM
5

Wealth is definitely limited. What, do you think we have infinite GDP? I wish. Of course a poor person has a lot more wealth than they would have had 100 years ago. But a rich person has so much more wealth than they would've had 100 years ago. Relatively a much bigger increase than the poor people. That's just a fact.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/17 03:21 PM

Maybe they shouldn't complain as much about how older men only want younger women They? You mean a bunch of hypocrtical women? I think we can both agree that they are whining, just like a lot of men are whining that women won't date them. What cold hard truth do you want to hear then? That people like attractive people?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/17 03:16 PM
3

The original argument was that ending shaming of sexually active women would lead to more sex available for everyone. Maybe that's true. Regardless of that, do you really need an argument to stop shaming sexually active women? Really? How about a new argument: don't shame people who do harmless stuff? Isn't the best argument for deregulation that people can exercise the maximum amount of freedom? And I don't really see negatives about sexual deregulation.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/17 03:11 PM

So, the economy hasn't grown at all since the early agrarian settlements in the fertile crescent? It grows, but there is still a finite amount of wealth. I mean, the economic growth in the USA the last 40 years or so has been very heavily in favor of the very rich. Of course the most attractive people still have an easier time getting sex, but that happens if you deregulate or not. Of course there is a very strong argument for it: people get to do what they want if there is deregulation. And sin…

It's simple really. Everyone has a finite amount of wealth, meaning that the top percentage can hoard it and use their wealth to gain more wealth. If you deregulate, this will happen and wealth will continue to concentrate in the top percentage. If two people have sex there isn't some pile of sex-units that now has one less. You can't hoard sex. That's why it won't concentrate in the top percentage in the same way wealth does. Of course the most attractive people still have an easier time gettin…

I have seen plenty of those kinds of feminists. Sure, so have I. I have also seen even more feminists that don't give a shit if you're not into girls that sleep around. Shitty and hypocritical people exist, and if you meet enough people, you'll meet enough shitty and hypocritical people.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/17 02:34 PM

Why is it called slut-shaming when a man doesn't want to marry a woman with a high number of previous partners. This isn't called slut shaming. Slut shaming is when you're like "She has lower value and bad self control because she slept around". Apart from maybe some militant feminist types, no one is hating on men that only want to marry a woman with few sexual partners.

Lots of girls like this one. Gets drunk, hooks up with hot white guy, than takes to social media to complain about not being considered relationship material. Just this one thing, this is not gender exclusive at all. Plenty of guys who complain that women don't want to date them. You've got whiners on both sides, they're just more visible in the age of social media. And if that's all what appears on your facebook, you should probably reconsider your social circle.

Nuclear family is ok, but the free choice of everyone involved comes first obviously. So the nuclear family is a fine ideal, but it should not come at any cost, because if you make divorce taboo (as it kinda was in the 1950s), you're also going to end up with a lot of very unhappy nuclear families, which is good for no one. I think you don't always need a nuclear family, but a child does need at least one stable parent figure (best is 2, but imo a step-parent can be fine too), a stable environme…

How is that? Educated people have less children on average, and they also make more on average, meaning they would have less need for government assistance. Jailing people costs us a lot of money, and when they get out of jail, they often continue to cost us money because they relapse into crime or need government assistance. That's not to say no one should go to jail, but people go to jail for bloody anything in the USA.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/17 12:38 PM
2

How about having children = serving your sentence later, or in a way that still allows you to take care of your children? That is for light nonviolent crimes of course. I don't see why we should punish the child for what the adult did. And in my opinion, the rights of the child trump the right of the adult in this case.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/17 10:48 AM
2

Problem is that it would be a burden on the child too, a completely innocent party here. If the mother has the financial means to pay it back, sure. But if not, you're either gonna take all her paycheck or put her in jail. Both are very bad for the kid. That would be as senseless as jailing men who can't afford child support

If these TRP'ers are all somehow decent guys in real life (and they aren't there are plenty of people on TBP who've described meeting TRP-like people, who would act as bad as you'd think), all the better. But they're still shitheads online and their online personas get hate/mockery for it. I still don't see the problem here. What are you trying …

Then they don't get to cry "bad faith". Why? TBP is not a sub to discuss whether or not TRP works. Does every sub needs to have discussion or what? You tried discussing the merits of SJW-ism on r/tumblrinaction ? You think it'll go well? And in the links you provided, you just suggest variations on TRP that are still in the spirit of TRP that TBP hates so much. Nah, TRPers that choose to practice a hateful part of TRP (like misogyny and stuff) are definitely fair game. I (and TBP) are of the opinion that the misogeny stuff is so central to TRP that if you're TRP you're doing that. Because if you do TRP without the misogeny stuff, you're just doing normal self improvement and confidence building. You don't need TRP for that. So if you pick TRP over regular self improvement, you're most likely attracted to the sexism and the ridiculous and harmful parts …

By insulting and ridiculing them constantly? Here's an example of a guy coming to TBP and saying he's considering red pill ideas. If they cared at all about "prevent[ing] people from falling into toxic TRP beliefs", I mean the top comment just tells him exactly why he shouldn't consider TRP in a pretty nice way. Doesn't look like hate to me.

TRP isn't religious, but it certainly looks like a cult. I didn't downvote you by the way.

Nah, Muslims that choose to practice a hateful part of Islam (like ISIS and stuff) are definitely fair game. But there's a lot of decent muslims out there (most of ISIS victims are other muslims you know) and I don't think it's fair to group them together. Furthermore, a lot of muslims are born a muslim stepping out of religion you've known your whole life and that your entire family is part of isn't easy. TRP is a rather focused opt-in community. You have to look at their sub, think to yourself…

Being in the getto is often not a choice and getting out of it is pretty hard. It is in no way comparable of being part of TRP which is literally making the choice to click a "subscribe" button. Anyone can choose to leave TRP with practially zero effort. If they don't then they're fair game really, because they choose to be part of TRP and can be ridiculed for it.

You choose to be part of the TRP sub. That alone makes it very different from bashing gays/women/black people etc.

Better to be a 10/10 to some people, than being an 8/10 to everyone. Because then everyone will choose their 10/10 and you'll never get anything.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
