I do appreciate that you're at least open to the possiblity, whereas many attractive women (and attractive people in general) might presumably be in the head space that it couldn't possibly be their fault somehow. I'm not sure if I have many constructive tips as to how to fix it, but something that sometimes works for me in general interpersonal situations is to try and think in terms of what an objective 3rd-party observer might be seeing/thinking of my behavior (etc) during a conversation - ov…

I'd heard they made OkCupid worse, but it's depressing to hear. I was last single in 2012ish and did OK then. The reassurance that I wasnt trying to approach someone who was already taken bridged the gap for me in terms of my otherwise inability to approach people IRL. BTW I think I owe you an apology, I posted this hours ago and now that I look back on it, I'm pretty sure I must have fat-fingered something and replied to the wrong parent comment, because my reply to you in context now seems non…

I wouldn't say "don't text back" outright. I'd maybe aim for just not being super-over-eager with it. Wait a while before replying sometimes. Don't always respond to every last thing that doesn't directly require a response. Etc.

Don't ignore online dating, too. It can take the edge off the initial approach when there is already some degree of assurance that the person you're sending a message to is at least on the market and looking. /r/okcupid basically saved me at one point.

Wait two weeks, and call her to ask if the repair job was satisfactory. Keep it professional - maybe write out a list of survey-type questions to read off (and write down her replies if necessary). If the reception is warm, then close by saying she should feel free to call at any time with questions related to the repair or subsequent questions on that subject, and give her your office number. If she's interested at all, she might infer the interest on your part and call back - and if there are …
