1	Son, 5 yo Not doing well with divorce I never really thought about this, but stbxw and I used that basic explanation when we had the talk with our 6.5 and 2.5yo (mostly the older one, obviously) -- mommy and daddy made this decision -- and now I'm questioning the whole thing. Mine didn't cheat but she initiated the divorce and is driving it. I didn't want it. I never thought about whether or not I was technically lying to my kid or how much detail I thought was reasonable and fair (to him and to me) to reveal. 3	Went looking for answers..Rock bottom. This is so on the money. Still in the process but throughout my stbxw has said all kinds of similar things as OP's ex. Claims of emotional abuse, threats, great Dad but poor partner, not supportive enough, see the work and changes but it's too late. All of it.
