You're right that the severity of the act should not by itself be seen as conclusive evidence of mental illness, but it is certainly a good reason to send the accused for a psychiatric evaluation before their trial. False accusations of anything are pretty bad, but so is the battery of accusations that are aimed at survivors of rape when they try to make legitimate accusations. Your reversal of my comment is actually entirely correct. There is absolutely nothing wrong with men's rights activists focusing exclusively on men's issues. There are places, however, where the interests of the two groups are the same and it would make sense for them to work together. That can't happen as long as MRAs continue to see feminism as inherently anti-man, and treat feminists as enemies.
