You're right, but this isn't relevant to men's rights. It just comes off as contemptuous and toxic.

What is the point of bringing religion into this? Stick to concrete shit, of which there is plenty.

It's definitely a stupid reason to ban someone. But your comment is bizarre, especially with the way you framed that. Menslib is a joke, of course.

Truly stupid.

First of all, I'm honestly honoured that you express support for men's rights. You are brave, truly. And I genuinely mean that. I would not be able to support a group that I have genuine phobia(fear) of. Yet you're here to support men's rights and doing what you believe is right despite your fear. I respect and admire that. I'm grateful for that. I hope you overcome your androphobia. Good luck.

I don't know what privileges women are self-aware of and what one they aren't. But, I'll begin with some she definitely has. She isn't scorned for being a villain. She isn't blamed for basically everything wromg with modern society. She gets the privilege of being assumed she's a good human being with good intentions. She has more social safety nets that prevent her from falling to abject poverty. She has a lesser probability of being dragged into gang violence, crime and substance abuse. She is…

I strongly disagree with this post. We should not generalize women as a group. I believe we should stick with feminists.

Thanks a lot for the support. It means a lot when women support the movement.

Why did the mods allow this, nothing in the title or the description have anything to do with this sub.

Misinformation-wise, sure. But as a conceot, there's no inherent fault borne by fast food restaurants that sell addictive food.
/r/MensRights20/12/22 11:34 AM

That's a pretty terrible stance to hold. Fast Food chains exploit people because they're too good at what they do? It's only exploitation if you're being coerced in a way that undermines your autonomy and agency. I'm addicted to a lot of things, but the fault lies with me as does the power to change. My agency and autonomy in the matter puts the responsibility of my addiction on me. Not the fast food chains that I voluntarily walk into and pay money to eat food from.

Labels are frankly pointless. If you care about men and women equally, that's fine. But to answer your question, yes, you can be an MRA.

Balls are super sensitive organs, physically and mentally. Having it groped by a woman probably causes some degree of alarm and panic. It's a fucked up thing to do. But most guys don't realize that this is sexual assault.

Yes. It originayed from wolves. But the alpha wold is nothing like the supposed alpha male. The alpha wolf bares the most responsibility, it protects the pack, and eats only after the rest of the pack has finished, protecting them while they're vulnerable. The alpha male is just embarrassing.

Without good censorship* I'm anti-censorship principally, though I recognize that private platforms have the right to engage in censorship.
/r/MensRights30/08/22 11:39 AM

Also, that's inflammatory. Don't say shit like that if you want to have a good discussion. It also indicates a degree of vindiction on your side, stuff like this can easily a ruin a conversation

No, it's fairly obvious that it is misandristic. I haven't looked too deeply into the matter, but it seems fairly clear that it is not a good faith attempt at addressing men's issues. The creator of the subreddit denied the existence of misandry, a gigantic yikes. There have been many many users who have documented popular misandristic posts that have strong anti-male sentiments, interactions with mods that show anti-male tendencies and policies and other things that all paint a reasonably convi…

Also there is a fair bit of documentation that MensLib has serious misandristic tendencies, at first I didn't believe it really. But as time passed, I've come to understand what people mean by that. The censorship is kind of ridiculous and it's been demonstrated in this subreddit multiple times.
/r/MensRights30/08/22 11:15 AM

Because of censorship, not because unprejudiced men merrily make their way to mens lib and prejudiced men magically find themselves here.

Before I get downvoted to hell, inevitably, let me state that I think this subreddit does a good job, a much better job than the feminist subreddits. In this subreddit people can come in, challenge the consensus and have debates without being censored. Try doing that in feminist-type subreddits and you'll be banned in a heartbeat. They're prejudice-infested closeminded echo chambers. This subreddit is atleast more open-minded and show more goodwill in discourse.

It's a concern, but not because of this sub, my concern has to do with the root of human prejudice. It's human nature. This kind of prejudice can be found all across the manosphere, across the entirety of feminist spaces like the r/Feminism, r/twoxchromosomes, r/inceltears, r/justneckbeardthings It extends to beyond just gender dynamics, you can find this kind of prejudice across all political discourse and even outside of political discourse. It would be extremely naive of anybody to assume tha…

I did not defend it from being sexist, I was just disagreeing with the ridiculous jumps in conclusions you made. It's sexist, obviously. That's where your analysis should stop. Too many people take it one step further. "Oh look at this woman-hating incel who blames women for rejecting his unattractive ass" Or on this subreddit: "Oh look at this mean-hating gold-digger who blames men for not giving her money" or whatever This^ is part of the problem. Don't do this.
/r/MensRights30/08/22 10:44 AM
1

Oh true. Asides from that, I don't think you can infer viewing women as predators, or any kf the other shit you said. And blaming women is still worse than all of that combined. Because that's a moral statement, and not just a descriptive statement. That's saying women are morally bad for being the way they are, that's not a cool thing to say. A lot of men want sex, a lot of women want money. This frustrates both sides. But that's not hatred or blame. Reading more into comments like this is part…
/r/MensRights30/08/22 10:36 AM
2

Wow, imagine being this wrong. You cannot infer animosity, you cannot infer the user viewing women as predators, you cannot infer women offering offer no value. There is no evidence of any of that in the quote. And none of that would be worse than actually blaming women.
/r/MensRights30/08/22 10:28 AM
7

That's not blame. Blame assigns moral responsibility. Women can't be morally responsible for their preference in men. It really is just a sad reality that men have to contend with. However, I think it's not as universal as the quote makes it seem, there are plenty of men and women who seek intimacy. Similar to how women say shit like "men only want sex". Women have the right to complain, but men cannot be blamed for that.

The variety of legislation that favours women over men should be extremely strong evidence against the existence of a patriarchy. The variety of socio-cultural norms that favour women over men. There isn't a single piece of legislation in the developed world that categorically puts men as a group above women. Though there are socio-cultural norms that place favour men over women, this by itself does not mean the western world and most places in the world are blatant patriarchies.

Concession accepted. Atleast you understand when to back away.
/r/MensRights26/06/22 12:22 PM

Wrong. That's not my concept of autonomy, actually. It shows how little you understand about what you're criticizing. I'll ask you one last time. Why does the right to autonomy justify abortion, but not financial abortions? This is the third time. If you don't answer this straightforwardly, and dodge like you did the last two times, you yourself would understand what that says about you. That you need to go through leaps and bounds to avoid answering a single simple question. It's the classic si…
/r/MensRights26/06/22 12:04 PM
11

Okay, you dodged my question. Either your comprehension is as lacking as I suspect, or you don't have an answer. If the loss of autonomy can justify abortion, why doesn't the loss of autonomy justify financial abortion? This is the second time I'm asking this. Anything other than an actual straightforward no bullshit answer is basically a concession that you have no idea wtf you're talking about.
/r/MensRights26/06/22 10:46 AM
13

Trust me, I read every word of the nonsense you typed out, despite my better senses. The end outcome is women don't have to take responsibility because their body their choice. If the reason for them being able to abort is due to autonomy, then the same should apply to men, because men also lose some autonomy when they're forced into fatherhood. Now, I'm a patient man. I'll give you another chance. How do you justify this inequality? Are women's autonomy more important than that of men's? What r…

That's wrong. The ratio of women in the workforce who join dangerous jobs is much smaller than the proportion of men who join dangerous jobs. So yeah, that's explicitly wrong.
/r/MensRights08/05/22 04:10 AM

Wrong. Equal opportunity is giving men and women the same opportunity. Not different opportunities. You cannot compromise the military by reducing standards for half of the population
/r/MensRights03/05/22 08:04 AM

This is silly. A lot of men's issues are related to women in some way or another. It's like expecting r/feminism never saying "WoMeN HaVe iT WoRsE ThAn MeN" Making a statement alternately capped does not make that statement more or less apt.
/r/MensRights29/04/22 01:06 PM

Exactly, it's just really annoying to see this comment section. The only men whose opinions on this should be given with any weight are like medical menstruation experts or doctors or some shit. The rest of them need to shut up. Glad someone agrees with me. I hope moderater comes in and locks this thread.

Yeah, I'm all for men's rights and issues. But periods fucking suck. This isn't something that is unjust or immoral. At the very MOST, you can talk about how much leeway women should get, but that's a discussion that needs to be had by women, not men. It's wholly an issue that absolutely does not belong in this subreddit.

I think your expectations of a casual online community, on Reddit of all places, are a bit too high. Note, I didn't say you were wrong to post the reviews, I just said that it's futile. If you truly want to have a discussion, you should take one argument from the review, summarize and then make a post of it on this subreddit. I can guarantee you the comments on that post will be more relevant and well-thought out. I can even do it for you to prove it, if you want. As for how I stand this crowd, …
/r/MensRights19/03/22 05:13 AM

Why tho? I watched 2 hours of your documentary. And that somehow means random strangers on the internet have some obligation, or even a reason to waste a lot of time, energy and patience? That makes little sense. It's not "our" documentary either. I don't consider myself an MRA or a feminist, there's too much stigma assodiated with those words.
/r/MensRights19/03/22 03:50 AM
3

Fair enough, but I'm not sure it's not supposed to come across as an objective argument or that people who watch it aren't doing so. And it is a personal opinion that went on the documentary, so it should be subject to criticism regardless. It's a personal preference between 2 things, which cannot be criticized unless it's causing harm to somebody. When you say she'd rather be a woman, that is what he's referring to by "womanhood" in general. Exactly, and since she didn't mean that, he's wrong. …
/r/MensRights19/03/22 03:47 AM

Also as a sidenote, it's a bit unreasonable to expect strangers online to watch, analyse and dissect a total of 48 minutes of a review of a documentary on Reddit just because you ask them. The more reasonable approach is to summarize and focus on one argument or point in a thread rather than dumping the entire review hoping someone will spend the shit ton of time, energy and patience needed to do this thoroughly. You'll only get half-hearted results otherwise, and that's normal.
/r/MensRights18/03/22 01:48 PM

Six minutes into the first one and there's a bit of an issue already. It's pretty disingenuous to take a personal, subjective view and opinion on the pressures that men face and try to frame it as an actual objective argument rather than the purely personal view it is, and then try to poke issues in it. In the video clip he shows us, she says the more she learnt about guys, the more she didn't want to be a guy because of the sheer pressure to succeed, be strong and sacrifice themselves for socie…

Look, I get where you're coming from. But the higher rates of indigenous women disappearing and lack of media coverage of it seems a bit too much of a stretch to be called patriarchy. When it comes to missing people, it seems more adult men are reported missing every year than adult women in Canada: https://www.canadasmissing.ca/pubs/2020/index-eng.htm Can this be called matriarchy? No. If more women were missing, I wouldn't call that patriarchy either. Patriarchy's definition refers to somethin…
