It’s a good thing that women are being more selective and choosing less men to be in relationships withI agree that men and women are different and therefore have different things to offer each other—but what OP was doing was defining what men should be. How do you feel about expectations being placed upon you? On how society reinforces roles and norms? I suspect you might not mind to much based on your flair; but can you see why others would resent this? | /r/PurplePillDebate | 23/06/25 08:57 PM
It’s a good thing that women are being more selective and choosing less men to be in relationships withWell call me naïve for thinking that relationships are about reciprocating! Setting up expectations around roles is ultimately defeating and isolates people. Dating is about negotiating what two people can offer each other. I think the issue with modern dating is that the internet has helped made women jaded and always looking for better instead of potentially seeing what’s there. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 23/06/25 07:37 PM
It’s a good thing that women are being more selective and choosing less men to be in relationships withYup op is framing relationships as transactional where men need to offer a whole shopping list of traits in exchange for…. Attention? Sex? What? | /r/PurplePillDebate | 23/06/25 06:59 PM
The biggest problem in dating is not dating apps or generalizations, it’s that bad men get with good women and bad women get with good men.If you want to have a relationship with someone where you support each other, but you won’t support someone else—there might be room for you to reevaluate your approach. If you’re with someone who doesn’t reciprocate, then move on. Especially at the beginning of a relationship both parties are typically putting in the most effort, if she isn’t; it will get worse. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 22/06/25 01:24 PM
| – | It is entirely on men to meet women’s expectations. Women should not have to lower their standardsInteresting. Could you elaborate on why women should be able to dictate who men are? | /r/PurplePillDebate | 22/06/25 12:18 PM |
The average man cannot set healthy boundaries or feel at ease and comfortable in a relationship because he’s so replaceable she’ll just walk awayFirst time on the sub. Reading through the comments, it’s depressing how many dudes are desperate for female attention. Sure the economics of dating are broken, and it’s hard to distinguish yourself in the eyes of a potential prospect online. So skip the online dating and ask a girl out in person. Also, dudes being with a lady who doesn’t appreciate you is worse than being alone. Find a hobby, appreciate your friends and focus on the good things you have. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 22/06/25 04:00 AM
