My son is 13 months. Just two weeks ago he stood up on his own as I came through the door. He’s never done that before. His mom and I both saw it. And we were both brought to tears. I’m my fiancées partner. Not a boomer parent. I don’t think it’s okay to leave our partners with all the essential duties babies require. Not at all. I love my son. I’ll do everything for him even when my partner can’t. And that’s why I’m marrying her.

It shouldn’t matter if I look like my child or not. My son is adopted. I love him more than anything. I can’t take him to parks anymore because my anxiety runs to high with people taking it upon themselves to check in with my son and make sure he’s with the right person. I’m trying to bond with my son outside of the house and no one lets me.

The amount of times I’ve seen and been apart of a woman taking it upon themselves to ask MY child if they know me and are okay. It’s disgusting. We are fathers. We enjoy spending time with our kids. No, it’s not babysitting duty. No mom isn’t getting a vacation. I’m out with my child.
