Thank you very much for taking the time to reply. I think I gotta post this on another sub as well. So you are right. I gotta move, but for some reason, the fact that there is a large group of people who know what happened is kind of haunting me. I have tendencies to think "what if one of these people will also be at the new place, he'll tell everyone and they'll all distance themselves from me too". This is slightly paranoid of course, but it is an issue for me. You are right though. I gotta fo…

Is it really? Wouldn't you think that people would regard you as a creep if you told them you don't have a Facebook account or don't have a smartphone etc?

that is a very moving story. thanks for sharing it.

if you do 2), what do you do when she keeps yelling something to frame the situation in a way that makes your walking away look bad?

i know about this social dynamic, and i've heard it often and it makes a lot of sense - however it contradicts what the other posters were saying in this thread. the women do get attention and are being talked to all the time, being showered in attention and so on. if it were like you said it wouldn't be a big issue for me because i know how things works and what i could do about it. but it looks like things are not like this at all. any thoughts?

i must admit that reading posts like these make me feel depressed and intimidated. how should i ever compete for such a woman? if i want an attractive woman in my life, then what are the chances? i am in the process of improving myself, but i am in my 30s and still a virgin with a ton of harsh issues. on the other hand i see so many posts and reports about how it's all in the confidence and personality. also what's the point in having such a woman if she is going to be bombarded by approaches an…

hey this is interesting. do you have a source for this? i'd assume it's from some kind of science book right?

btw, have you read cialdini's "influence"? i didn't even consider to look in this kind of category but now that you mention business books and , by extension, manipulation etc., perhaps that could lead me to more sources?

what a great find, thanks a lot. that is a lot more citable than an internet blog. thank you!

thank you, i heard this name a lot a few years back. will give him a look. do you have a certain set/course/book in mind?

thanks. i am writing a paper on something completely unrelated to TRP, and reading about frame made me think i could use this concept in general, but as you say, i seem to have misunderstood it. so far i thought it's about a general set of statements that you convey by saying or doing anything. like things that you inadvertantly presuppose because your statement or action cannot be "thought" or "conceived" without it. your question whether i am writing a paper, for example, conveyed about a mill…

ah yeah, that is a nice way of putting it. well i am fairly new as well, been reading for a long time but still consider myself a newbie. the reason i am asking is that i need a citable source. and a TRP blog is not gonna cut it unfortunately. but thank you nevertheless.

thank you for the link, very informative and it helps me personally to understand frames better - however that is from a TRP perspective. i need to know whether this concept has been explored specifically by scientists, philosophical writers, psychologists, and so on, outside of and prior to TRP, and would love to know their writings about this. or are you telling me that this "frame" concept was made by TRPers? in the blog post you link he talks about psychologists using a similar concept. that…

it's hard for me to describe it, but reading this article gives me a bit of peace, in a way. thank you.

sorry for the late response. thank you for taking the time to explain this. it makes a lot more sense now. the "rules" that you have explicated are very helpful. again, thank you. ♂

sorry for the late response. this is some deep stuff. thank you for taking the time to write it. i'll have a lot of reading to do, this is more complex than i thought. ♂

thank you, this also makes a lot of sense ♂ . alright, so how did you learn to recognise those tests when they appear? when it comes to obvious stuff like talk about sex etc., then i could understand how to spot that stuff. but innocuous things like holding her bag, or being asked what i do for a living - i would never think of it as a test that would reveal something weak about me if i answer or respond in an expected way. which is why your answer also seems a bit cryptic to me. i don't see it …

i got a lot out of this answer, so thanks. how did you learn to recognise themand to differentiate them from non- shit tests? i.e., why is "how old are you" or "what do you do" regarded as being a shit test - couldn't it simply be genuine curiosity on her end? ♂

alright, thanks. i'm still so used to the "video courses" format from the PU days in the mid 2000s. didn't consider trp endorsed users yet. will do, thank you.

see that's exactly what my problem is. i think i can recognize the ones you write are common, at least i see what's problematic with these statements. however i could not recognize the pre-shit tests and the advanced ones. i don't see the problem in answering questions about what i do, etc.. isn't that normal conversation? ok, so that's why i was asking for more info. what resources can in watch/buy/read that would give me a more detailed understanding about this.
/r/askTRP08/10/14 06:22 PM

that was a very good read. i like his style. my problem is that i still have difficulty recognizing acts that aim to destabilize you or break your frame. i don't see anything wrong with taking and carrying a woman's bag, how would that be a failed test? that'S the kind of stuff that makes me want to seek out more information on tests, so if you happen to know a more detailed resource, i'd love to hear it. oh, and ♂ , gotta love those bots!

yep, still have to read the rest. do you, however, have information on a PU program or something similar that has more info on this topic? i enjoy the program format, and i'd love to watch people talk about this a bit more in depth than it would be possible on a blog.
