Married twice and divorced both times. It just gets way more expensive over time, especially if the other's net worth is a lot less than yours. Not worth it

This is my first Christmas alone too. Think of it this way: there's 365 days in a year. And 52 weekends in a year. Just think of Christmas Day as any other day or weekend. That's how I'm surviving being alone on Christmas this year. There's so many of us (single, married, separated, divorced) who are alone on Christmas Day, or any other day, by choice or by chance. You are not alone, no matter the circumstance.

My STBXW and I separated twice; first time around was when our son was 6 months old. We got back together around the time he turned 1; she filed for divorce from me when he turned 2. We share 50/50 custody, and it hasn't been hard on him going back and forth; as we alternate weeknights and weekends with our son. STBXW and I live 20 minutes away from each other.
