"... but once it's done. It's like you never existed." Truer words have never been spoken. Sorry for your pain.

That's true. Still, I mean it as encouragement. I've been through all this before. It can get way worse.

You don't get to choose what happens when she has them just like she doesn't get to choose what they do with you. Man up.

I wish I knew what to tell you. I wish there were some secret to this. But there isn't. It's a hard grind, and you can only count on yourself to get through it. I can tell you that the first couple of years for me were really dark. It's now, years later and ninety percent of the time I feel okay. But that ten percent still exists and is still dark.

She wants you to continue to support her life until she finds another man to do it. Once she does she will do you no such favors

This happened to me. My best friend of 30 years sided with the ex because of his wife. And let's be honest. Married women don't want their husbands around a newly single man. That's a big part of it.

I don't promote divorce, but I understand that sometimes it's the only solution. So I do lean towards staying together. However, it sounds like you have legit reasons for leaving. Chances are very high that her change in behavior is temporary at best, and it's not only because of her. Realize that YOU are part of that equation. Going back will likely only recreate the environment that allowed her to be the way she is.

I'm sorry. I understand how you feel.

Love is not an on/off switch. I think it was a real breach for your therapist to bring it up. Have you considered going to a male therapist? I would personally not completely trust a female therapist. Try as they may to be professional, there is such the female code, and they are indoctrinated since birth.

I experienced a similar thing. She started seeing a therapist, and her behavior became very combatativ and selfish shortly thereafter. The divorce came just a little later.

I realized all my potential had been sapped by her.

I hate to say it, but chances are pretty good that if she's not having sex with you, she's having it with someone else. I went through the same thing.

Your friend paid to keep a man from his own son. Fuck him!

That's a great question. I think, yes, hormones are way more impactful on how a woman perceives things. We all have them, but men are lucky in that our hormones are always on message. Fuck, eat sleep. You get the picture. Women can have wild hormonal swings on a monthly basis. Then, cherry on top, in mid-life. The floor drops out and they're a different person. It can't be easy. That said, millions of women have dealt with that and still managed to stay married.

There where a lot of changes. Some subtle. Some not. We where together 13 years. By the end I barely recognized her

The very nature of why redpill is so needed is in full display in this thread. Look how vitriolic some of these responses are to a simple question. Whether you agree with RP or not is a personal choice. But the insulting, the demeaning, the misrepresentation... why? This is a mens space. It's supposed to be anyway. So if we believe that it's men responding this way, why is your energy SO VERY FEMININE? No insult intended. But, really, what do you think this gets you? Not "her". Women generally h…

Who is they? Like I said, superiority is not a tenent the redpill movement. Are there individuals that are toxic? Everywhere. That's not exclusive to any community. So, I ask again? Why say this?

That sounds like the stuff women say about it. Exactly like the stuff they say.

As you stated, that is very rare, but it doesn't cover how men usually get screwed with the kids.

An attorney can say whatever he wants to. But until it's argued in court, it's just scare ta tactic. Perhaps a way to get you to capitulate on some other issue.

I really hate to be the one to say this, but I think you really need to hear it. You are NOT a good husband. You are her servant. A good husband gets treated like one, and that's what you want, right? But do you deserve it? Controversial, yes, but I'm not victim blaming. I'm empowering you. You can change all of this, but you need to get real about it. I won't carry on because my message will only mean something if you really want to hear it. You have such an opportunity to make everything bette…

This! I know it hurts. I know it drives you crazy. I really do. But knowing is not going to help you. I don't know what your financial situation is, but you should try to get a lawyer as quickly as possible. Trust me, she WILL do all the things you never thought she would if she's at this stage. Protect yourself.

I started dating right away, but I can sincerely tell you that for the first couple of years, every girlfriend was doomed to deal with the backlash of my divorce.

You need to look into Grey Rocking. Trust me. I had the same problem for a long time till I naturally began to do this. Little did I know it's an established tactic for dealing with this kind of problem. Try it. It takes work, because you will always be somewhat invested, but it will change the dynamic for the better

You do what you feel is right for you. But if you go in expecting reciprocation prepare ro be let down. I didn't even hear feom my kids for fathers day. That's what I get from my ex.

Get a lawyer and move out. You'll notice that her symptoms will quickly disappear. Just be aware that someone this manipulative may ramp up the manipulation in ways you haven't imagined. Get a lawyer.

Nothing about this sounds like it will ever get better. You know the answer. You just want confirmation. Well, you have it now.

Brother I hear you. Furthermore, I understand and empathize with you. It's been three years since my separation, and, like you, I am completely aware of how terrible we where together. Yet, I still miss her. The her that wasn't awful. Those beautiful moments that brought us together in the first place play out in my mind regularly. And that's okay. Just recognize that what you are missing are memories. Filtered by hope. Condensed by loneliness and polished by time. Lovely memories, to be sure, b…

Serious question. If both of you think you could manage this, why can't you manage being married?

If you are considering a regular, W2 position, there's not much you can do about it. They can find out your income if the matter is brought to question. However, if you are talking about starting your own business, you should look into creating an LLC. Then you can hire yourself at whatever salary you would like to claim. Head on over to r/Entrepreneurs. You'll get all the info you'll ever need. Good luck.

I feel for you. I'm spending my first Christmas without her in 12 years, so I understand. I don't think you should be buying her anything. It doesn't make you small or petty. It seems like this is still pretty new for you. It is for me. Don't do things for nostalgia's sake. It won't change things. It won't help you feel better. It sucks. But she's not that woman anymore. She won't melt at your kindness. She won't regret messing up such a good thing. She'll move on. And that gift will be set asid…
