If he won’t even help by washing the dishes after and basic food prep like chopping things..... I’d say throw that man out! At the very least he should be appreciative and looking for ways to help you out, you are his partner not his servant. And I agree cooking together or doing chores together can be fun if you make it fun!

Yes! A man who can both be decisive and also considerate of your needs is definitely a green flag!

They probably googled what to put on their dating profile and those were the first things to come up in the search results 😂

After about 6 dates, my current boyfriend sat me down and told be he’d be proud to have me as his girlfriend. No beating around the bush, fear of commitment, or playing games haha. He is also quick to be helpful, even without my asking, and often says that “making your life easier is a hobby of mine.” ♥️ So those are two things that come to mind right away :) Stay positive hon!

I’ve never heard of this happening unless you live together or it’s a sugar daddy situation 🤷🏾‍♀️ And I would personally be kind of uncomfortable with it, I can pay my own rent, if he wants to treat me or make my life easier he can do so in other ways.

I can’t imagine this is any easier than just, idk, communicating? 😂

Just because I at the time fit the “angry black lady” stereotype doesn’t mean I’m WRONG.. 🤦🏾‍♀️ I try to just not correct people in person anymore, argumentative guys see me as an easy target because they assume I’ve never heard of logic before.

There is a small subset of women who prefer bigger men or who aren’t picky about body type, I don’t see the need to lambast them if they aren’t your type. Telling someone “nobody finds you desirable” is both mean and often untrue. Even if there are more men into plus sized women than women into bigger men 🤷🏾‍♀️

You’d think they would learn that shit doesn’t work 🙄 They just think “Nah that b*tch was uptight it will work great on the next one”

At least in my family it was sort of the norm sadly... plenty of infidelity, men being held to low expectations, women having to handle 90% of the responsibility, etc. Happy to be breaking that cycle and reminding my younger sister and niece to not settle for those type of guys.

If you’re in a funk or a bad mood, dating someone new is probably a bad idea. That time is better spent with friends and by working on yourself! You don’t want to miss out on a potentially great guy by not being in the right headspace for him, and forcing yourself to date probably ain’t good for your mental health anyways.

I haven’t watched it but isn’t the show Sex Education just a comedy/drama?

Probably not a great idea to post his contact info online like that, but yeah this guy is a piece of work to put it lightly 😬

I’d tell myself to pay attention to how the guy acts around you in public. Does he hold your hand often when walking somewhere? Does he enthusiastically introduce you to people he knows? If he only wants a relationship behind closed doors, that’s a huge red flag.. learned that one the hard way smh 🙄

I mean by his actions alone he seems like a total asshole, the body shaming doesn’t seem necessary 🤷🏾‍♀️

He could be worried about moving too fast? Like, in his mind, saying that he IS looking for something serious might make you less interested 🙄 See where things go, but be honest about what you are looking for and that you aren’t interested in waiting around “getting to know” someone forever.

I don’t plan to have my own children (But was told I wasn’t welcome in the childfree subreddit because I want to adopt/foster in the future lol) It might be too assertive to put family plans in a dating profile but I’d say bring it up after a few dates for sure. I know of relationships that have ended over the two disagreeing on whether they want to have kids! It’s a big deal. You could probably approach it light-heartedly, and in my experience guys aren’t thrown off by the topic.

It’s a little patronizing to assume the women on this sub are all desperate or lacking self esteem... And saying so isn’t going to get one to talk to you

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
