To address your question: of course not, because I DON'T KNOW WHETHER HE DID IT OR NOT. I don't know that he did it. I don't know that he didn't do it. But I wouldn't call her a liar unless I knew this behavior was typical of her. And this is where we simply differ. If she wouldn't want to report it and get it factually backed up I wouldn't believe it at all.

and no way to objectively show they're false, the only logical thing to do is say you don't know. That's not logical considering here in the US someone is innocent until proven guilty, not "Maybe until proven some way". If someone doesn't have a means to backing up their claim then why should I give them the benefit of the doubt? I consider it false because I have zero reason to believe it's true if they're not willing to get the facts backed up.
