I mean Tristan Tate is tall and handsome, and last time I checked he was pretty widely reviled by women.

Modern schooling is an experiment in male conditioning taken to an extreme. Maybe this is a regional thing, but I don't think "sit down and shut up" is a modern innovation in schooling. At least in Ireland, from my dad's stories of schools in the 1960s, when schooling was near universally gender-segregated, Catholic in ideology and had absolutely no feminist or feminine-coded influence to it, schooling in the past was even more rooted in a "sit down and shut up" mentality, with it usually being …

Toxic masculinity is an attempt to overfit and to tie a myriad of both societal issues and individual mental health problems to gender alone. It is every bit as unscientific as female hysteria. If people want to talk about it anecdotally on a personal level, thats fair. But the moment a psychologist talks about it as anything more than a quip, I'm out.

One thing about this difference is that all of the "mens work" you've listed, minus taking out trash, are either things only done by house-dwellers (mowing the lawn, shovelling snow, roof work) or things increasingly outsourced nowadays (maintaining vehicles and appliances), while all of the "womens work" is comparatively rarely outsourced and needs to be done regardless of living situation (in apartments, flats, single family homes and shared accommocation alike).

What are some specific examples of traditional masculine values which you think there is currently a disdain for?

I'm focusing on it because it is a really, really fucked up thing to bring up. The fact that it even occurs to you when thinking about your own sex life is indicative of deeply-rooted issues.

That is still a violent sexual thought about your mother. Seriously, you need help.

You said you believe that your mother wanted at one point to be gangbanged by a bunch of drug dealers behind a dumpster and would prefer this to a relationshiobwith your father. That is a violent sexual thought. That is not a normal thought to have at all. There is nothing wrong with me at all.

I really don't care that you've lost goodwill for me. You have bigger things to worry about. I just hope you get the help you need.

im just saying, there's a chance my mom probably wanted to get gangbanged by drug dealers behind a dumpster too once and that she got more excited by that more than she ever did by the thought of sex with my father. If you can afford psychotherapy, you need to book some sessions and speak about this with them ASAP. Having violent sexual thoughts about your own mother is not normal and you should resolve this before it becomes a major issue.

I don't think I'm stupid enough to rely on partisan online forums for emotional support in a time of crisis, but I appreciate your condescending faux well wishes all the same.

Well, I can't really offer you anything other than the anecdotal evidence that is my own experience as a 168cm man in a heterosexual relationship, and that of observing others relationships play out. I could probably go and dig out some studies or surveys if I wanted to, but I haven't got any big reason to put myself to that effort. Especially when you have not done the same. Do you want advice or debate? I can give you advice but I won't debate you if you refuse to meet the very requirements yo…

But I don’t think there’s anything wrong with “needing YouTube videos to socialize”, because sadly some people are on the spectrum (as many of them are) and were never given the help or opportunity to learn these things. Men on the spectrum especially are treated far worse. They’re quite behind the curve, and sometimes need some help to speed them up Yeah agreed. My point is moreso that its cringe when guys who explicitly needed to learn how to socialise and talk to women start acting like exper…

Weird red pill dudes seem to draw a distinction between "beta bucks", which is around women using men for money covertly, and men actually literally paying women for their company. Like, I've heard dudes say that the fact the John McAfee had a harem of 7 women living with him was proof that firstly women prefer old men, and secondly that women like criminals. Conveniently ignoring the fact that McAfee himself explicitly stated that he "hired" these women to spend time with him. You have to remem…

I saw one which pretty much came down to "If a woman is in love with you, she will try to sabotage you". "Oh no bro, if she buys you gifts, or wants to spend all day with you or cooks meals for you, she probably thinks you're a beta cuck. But if she slashes your tires so you're late for a meeting and get fired, she's a keeper". I have an only somewhat satirical theory that The Red Pill is a conspiracy to match men with NPD to women with BPD. Its aimed at men who are bitter at the world for not r…

Its based on the idea that women are meant to withhold sex from men, while men are meant to negotiate sex out of women. So a woman who withholds a lot of sex successfully is doing her thing well, while a man who negotiates a lot of sex successfully is doing his thing well. It is pretty flawed, as you can expect from red pill thinking. It ignores women who enjoy casual sex and seek it out, and men who are not interested in casual sex and avoid it, or at least devalues both of them.

"The wall" as this deliverance-like thing which awaits women who don't settle down is even weirder. Most of the big changes in appearance women have in their thirties (weight gain etc) are linked to having kids and the toll that has on the body and schedule. But they seem to think that these things will also happen as dramatically (or even more dramatically) to women who don't have kids and don't get married etc.

Sure. If the OP actually thinks he is hypersexual, he needs to speak to a therapist. Looking to the internet for startegies to suppress his thoughts is not a great approach. As someone who has been through CBT for OCD, the goal of therapy for intrusive/obsessive thoughts has in my experience not been to stop the thoughts, but rather to accept them and remove the shame/anxiety associated with them, and get to a point where the thoughts can simply be allowed to pass through on their own course. I …

I agree with a lot of this. Especially the point about these communities being the only ones to fully acknowledge these things. I think the "feminist-adjacent" communities kind of acknowledge and give advice to men here, but don't go the full way. Some will say "Not everyone finds someone, theres nothing wrong with being single", so tell them to accept it, but don't allow them to feel bitter or hard done by. Others say "Just work on yourself and be yourself", but don't allow them to be systemati…

I think you need to accept the fact that you have sexual thoughts about women. Try and allow the thoughts to pass through, rather than "battling" them. You can be walking over a bridge and think about jumping off it, without doing it. Same goes for sexual thoughts.

Yeah. They talk about wanting a "tradwife" after they've "spun plates". Forgetting that: The women who want to be "tradwives" nowsadays generally have zero interest in dating men who have spent their 20s having casual sex. They're probably already married to men who want to be "tradhusbands" who they met in their early 20s. Most of them are in religious circles. What they want is not a traditional wife. A traditional wife in western society is generally the social lead of the family and the prim…

I'm convinced the red pill is just a conspiracy to get all of the bpd/npd men and bpd/npd women paired up and off the dating market. The entire relationship dynamic they seem to strive for (the "shit tests", the stupid arguments, this ever fleeting "frame", etc.) basically require two people with untreated personality disorders to even start taking shape.

So with regards to the erotica stuff, that checks out. If you're gonna have a super assertive, sexually dominant male character, why not also make him narcissistic and selfish and tick all the fixer-upper fantasy boxes. Don't pretend that male gaze fantasies of submissive, quiet, insecure women, or mean, self-centred femme fatales don't exist, or the media portraying them. But remember that thats what they are, fantasies. But I'd be interested to actually see these real world studies suggesting …

Studies I've read indicate that women with nonmasculine partners feel bored and dissatisfied. Generally, stereotypically "non-masculine", or more specifically boring, emotionally neglectful, sexually closed-minded/selfish, and making little effort to keep things interesting? I think you're half right. Unconfident (i.e. lacking one key sterotypically masculine characteristic) people will probably not be as willing to or naturally inclined towards keeping someone "on their toes" in a relationship,…

We deny it, because you are referencing a youtuber like a scientific source. Your treating social media, one of the most low quality and low accountability groups of platforms, as if it is gospel. This sub is actually pretty good in terms of allowing men to voice their grievances without getting mad at them and accusing them of misogyny. Look, I personally want to help men, I want to help you. But I cannot do that, and nor can anyone else, if you responds to everything I say with "well, X youtub…

It is very difficult to figure out in a one-night-stand situation what a person's intentions are. Think about it, you barely know this person, how can you really trust them? Which is why many women and men have no interest in them. This whole notion that women are "constantly going on one night stands" really doesn't check out for me. I have quite a few female friends (sounds like a humble brag lol, but you get me) and basically none of them are into one-night-stands. So the whole idea that wome…

As a man, I would say no. It is easier for them to start the potential foundations of a relationship (i.e. ask out/be asked out) but as the time passes in that "situationship" things become less easy and actually it is, in western dating dynamics at least, generally the man who controls access to commitment and relationship. But that is irrelevant, my point is that women's grievances do not diminish when they are in a relationship. So even if it were easier for them to find a relationship, it wo…

Well, social competence is something people tend to overreport. Even when I was at my most shy, I would have said that I was actually pretty damn confident. It took reflection years later to really see how socially incompetent I was. When you struggled with dating. Was it your fault? Tough question. I hesitate to say it was my fault. I was living at home with my parents in a small, rather conservative town in Ireland. I, as a fairly liberal man, simply didn't fit in socially with anyone but a fa…

I feel bad for saying this, but yes. I don't think I have ever met a man IRL, or encountered a man online, who was in a happy relationship and had a lot of grievances due purely to being male. While it seems many women, regardless of relationship status, have a lot of grievances due purely to being female. Things like lack of emotional support, lack of encouragement, lack of accessible sex, tend to end when someone finds themselves in a good relationship. Meanwhile, things like periods, risk of …

I was never "red-pilled", however I was a late bloomer and struggled with dating and women when I was in my early twenties, and during that time I definitely perused a lot of manosphere stuff, but still with a somewhat critical eye. Since then, I've largely by coincidence found myself breaking out of my rut and am currently in an LTR. I have come to learn quite a lot through all of this, and am of the opinion that the "red pill" is largely based on kernels of truth which are not so much conspira…

I think sexual attraction is generally very important in relationships. Thats not all looks though, as vibe, personality, voice, dynamic etc etc all play a role. But looks is undeniably a part of it. Outside of relationships, I don't think looks matter that much in my experience. Most of the wealthy, high-status people I know, especially men, are overweight.

Yes. And the crucial thing to remember is that these situations "identical minus one trait" situations basically never happen, for either gender.

If you go with the idea that "alpha and beta" are context-dependent and synonymous with "subtly popularly selected leader and followers" then in the red pill idea of the perfect household (man busy with "the grind" and providing, woman is SAHM who takes full care of child rearing, cooking, cleaning, family matters), the husband will usually be a beta in family life and the wife the alpha. Who do you think the kids (the majority of the "voting base") in this scenario are going to unconsciously ch…

A lot of the red-pill type dudes genuinely think its the opposite. I remember someone on AskMen confidently commenting "It is exponentially more likely that a woman will leave a man who is ill, than vice versa", and getting upvoted. A couple of people refuted this and provided studies illustrating the reality, which was that men are more likely to leave a woman who is ill, to no comment from the original commenter. There is simply no idea of accountability or backing up with these types. It's no…

I think the movement is by and for socially inept, narcissistic, and crucially unintelligent men. It isn't really something which makes sense to those who have genuine social skills, have non-dysfunctional personalities, and are capable of thinking critically. A lot of it is based on men with no self-confidence being told things by men who they think are better than them and blindly believing it. I don't think logic can be used to understand such a movement. Its like using logic to understand Sc…

You're quite inconsistent. You say one should screen their partners, and then say they should not test them. Screening someone with a view to sticking with them or rejecting them is testing them, whether you want to admit it or not. A way to do it is not to ask a woman "do you like men", but to listen to how they speak about men, the male experience, past partners, etc, and to piece together the narrative they have about men. And how does one encourage those conversations without asking them? Yo…

I've watched some of the stuff out of morbid curiosity. I think it would work pretty well if ones goal was a relationship with someone with borderline/narcissistic personality disorder. A lot of the stuff they say "all" women do ("tests", "female nature", etc.) are actually just the behaviours of narcissists looking for validation. I really don't understand why RP tells dudes they need to "pass" these "tests" in order to get girls. If its really about men being empowered and getting what they wa…
