The article describes a woman's attempt to punish a man for using "sexual slurs". She believes women should have the right to be free from the words that men say that they don't like. 3	No guy would get a pass on domestic abuse just because people wanted to get on with their lives...how is this even a thing? I'm not so sure this happens "a lot". Prosecutors will still prosecute without the victim as a witness if they can, provided they can still make the case. They can rely on 911 calls, pictures, officer testimony, whatever they have as evidence. If a prosecutor decides they want to pursue a case, they don't need cooperation from the victim. People love to say "battery is hitting someone, assault is placing someone in fear of being hit". That may be true in civil courts, where you sue someone for medical bills, and pain and suffering you endured based on your injury. But every state defines their criminal infractions differently.
