GYM! I recently became single after a 6 year relationship, and I was definitely feeling down. But nothing has helped me more than the gym in terms of my mood, and confidence. When people started to notice and kept asking hey, are you working out? You are getting buff, the feeling was amazing.

This year started pretty rough for me as well. I broke up with my gf and it just sucked. What really helped me was going to the gym (started doing stronglifts) and hitting up your buddies that you might have fallen out of touch with and just ask to hangout. Just focus on developing yourself and your social circle, and then focus on game after.

In a situation where you run in to the same people over and over again, so if your campus is small, you might want to tread carefully. You don't want pickup to affect your personal life or academic life. But if you are at a huge school, say 50k people, then it probably doesn't matter. For me the reason why I open direct is I live in a major city where there are tons of homeless and sales people approaching you on the streets, so if you don't approach direct and with confidence, a lot of the time…
