You should file first and ask the court to restrict the child’s travel to within the state. You should also document her poor parenting either in writing or video. Should you take an aggressive step like this, she’ll come back swinging saying “domestic violence” and try to have you arrested. You need to protect yourself as much as the child. Do not go near her, talk to her, and if you have any interact, record it. It’ll get you out of jail.

Ask for recommendations from the lawyer of other happy clients in your situation. If they can’t give you one or two, move on.

You’re better to file easy and withhold evidence. Don’t play all your cards at once. If you go in hard, she’ll just have you arrested. If things get nasty, bring out all the evidence.

It isn’t illegal to have BPD, so don’t focus on it. Focus on her behavior and how it is damaging to the kids. If you’re an involved father, just get a custody evaluator who recommends 50/50 most of the time. Your lawyer will know who recommends this the most.

Read “Don’t alienate the kids” by Bill Eddy. She is trying to build a wall of alienation between you and your child one brick a my a time.

e court requires briefs to be filed before trial so maybe I’ll finally know what it is she wants then Right, do not adjust an offer until she counters.

Then she is trying to get you to negotiate against yourself (which is an awful strategy for you and a wonderful strategy for her).

You need to create a table with high, medium, & low valued items for you and an additional table for what she values. Then try to trade off low-valued items for high-valued items.

Post understanding those strategies, you want to inoculate the child from the strategies by teaching them that those specific behaviors by either parent are inappropriate.

Read Amy Baker’s “Beyond the high road” to see a full list of PA strategies. Document with reference to those.

Yes, contact a civil ligation firm. A small single-practitioner firm is best as then there is no approval process by a litigation board (who might say "we don't sue single mothers").

You’re thinking about it wrong. “Child support” is a bad name. It is actually an income stream of positive long term value.
