What are you trying to say? I already said that HSV carriers are more contagious during visible outbreaks BUT it's more likely that you will be infected by someone that has no visible outbreaks. That is why 70% of people who are infected with HSV contract it from people without visible sores.

I think it is good to check down below before getting freaky for any signs of infection (both herpes and other STD), but don't freak out about it. You do realize that most STIs are asymptomatic, right? That's why they are called infections and not diseases. HSV(herpes) sheds the virus asymptomatically. In fact up to 70% of HSV transmission occurs when there is no sign of infection or sores.

I have the same policy and I have slept with 30+ partners. It's not hard to get tested or ask to be tested for HSV. If your doctor gives you a problem you can let them know that 1) not everybody has HSV, 54% of Americans ages 14-49 have HSV1 and 16% has HSV2. 2) knowing your HSV Status can lower transmission rates if you are turn out positive 3) the CDC says if you have had multiple partners and want a full STD screen you should be tested for HSV

If you are infected it could take up to 2 weeks+ to test positive. If someone's used the IgG blood test for HSV(herpes) then they would have to wait 12 weeks, at the very least, for most accurate testing.
