...and all of the sudden, no one cares about “equal pay” anymore...Fair enough. It's a specialized skill, and there's a direct market for it. Good for her. | /r/MensRights | 31/07/19 11:12 PM
...and all of the sudden, no one cares about “equal pay” anymore...Maybe someone thinks your job pays too much as well, or mine. There's an aspect of market demand, which will dictate what players are getting paid. Women's soccer doesn't generate as much revenue as men's soccer, but the pay stipulations for the women's team (based on the chart I saw a few weeks ago) were completely off, and constituted a gamble in every way; to the point where you'd likely find mercenary players on the team by all logic, rather than players interested in playing as a team. But … | /r/MensRights | 31/07/19 07:19 PM

| -2 | Gay Men Can't Donate BloodThat is likely the better solution, but try convincing them to implement it. They're worried about maintaining current donors, and a lot of them may happen to be already-homophobic middle America who likes to boycott anything some asswipe with a radio show complains about. A Change in demographic would mean a shift in their practices in general, and most industries are way too lazy for that, unless they're pressed to evolve (remember Napster?). We can probably agree, however, that there's not a … | /r/MensRights | 26/07/13 01:35 PM |
Gay Men Can't Donate BloodGiven this, I never understood why people bitch about these things. Granted, the industry makes a shit-ton of money off everyone's blood, but they're really trying to deliver a product that won't kill somebody, as quickly and easily as possible. | /r/MensRights | 26/07/13 12:25 PM

School bans Movember because girls can't grow facial hairIn hindsight, I should've just read the article first. I mean, yes and no. Personally, if something's bullshit, I just enjoy the concise reasoning as to why, so I can bypass reading an article that's going to waste 2 minutes of my life. If no guidance is available, or seems a little shaky, I'll suffer through what could possibly be a piece of worthless non-journalism. | /r/MensRights | 15/11/12 05:03 PM
School bans Movember because girls can't grow facial hairSo, can we stop sensationalizing shit now, and be realistic? I made it a point to read the comments first, to see if the thing was bullshit in the first place. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. | /r/MensRights | 15/11/12 04:50 PM
"my advice to anyone is to keep the door of your office open, and never coach children’s sports or babysit."I work one-on-one with children, males and females, all ages, on an almost-daily basis. I'm a music teacher. I teach trumpet. At this point, over half the female students I've ever had, have flirted with me at some point. It may have been out of humor, or other intentions - but I don't like it occurring. About 1/3 of said female students would always be pissed-off when I didn't reciprocate their suggestive words (which I literally did for none of them, ever), and left their lessons noticeably an… | /r/MensRights | 14/11/12 07:59 PM
My experience in TargetThis happened to me twice at Walmart. The first time, I was merely given the stink eye and brushed off while security watched my ever move for the next 20 minutes. The second, I was physically escorted off the property, and told "people like [me] aren't welcome [there]". Any time I find a missing kid now, I let them stay missing. For all I care, your kid can fuck off and die. If it came down to me running into a burning building to save them, I'd sooner roast marshmallows on the flames. | /r/MensRights | 07/11/12 08:39 AM

Another double standard case: Female teacher pleads guilty to sex with 13-year-old student, all she gets it's ONE YEAR OF COMMUNITY CUSTODY (will have to wear an ankle monitor)So, when the 13-year-old turns 18, he'll be given life in prison for it, right? | -5 | UPDATE: School admits that woman who stripsearched 3rd grade boy violated school policy and apologizesI'm sorry, but I don't agree with the idea of having her register as a sex offender. She did something stupid, yes, but the idea that this is going to somehow fix the development of anybody affected, or do anything but destroy the perpetrator's life (often leading to a resulting suicide in certain cases), is completely off-base as I see it. There's an overhaul that needs to happen, so the witch hunt for anything remotely sexual dissolves in the US. In this case especially, she didn't appear to d… | /r/MensRights | 21/06/12 06:33 PM

(sexism in the Denver International Airport)The subreddit I got banned from, along with its adjoined discussion board (for discussing the topic). If you subscribe to it, just read. It's paid off, to perpetuate the horse shit that's flown for years. It's the same with a lot of things. The masses rile themselves up with a simple mention of all this, hype is created, and someone gets to sell more "Men R dum lol" keychains on the boardwalk. SRS doesn't care about men getting punched, and I get banned in what was basically an unknowing kamikaze attempt, costing my my privilege of posting there. SRSdiscussion won't let me discuss the issue, within a thread started by somebody else about the very topic, and bans me as well. | 4 | If circumcision is alright because the child won't remember it, then is date rape alright as well?I can't say I remember having an uncircumcised unit. I get the argument that it detracts from blah blah blah, but I wasn't sexual active as an infant, so it's not like I've known anything different. There are cases where circumcision may be more right than others, however. In high school, I had a friend whose foreskin would barely allow the head of his penis through, if at all. That ended up being a hygiene and intercourse problem for him, and he had it taken care of. From all his accounts, it w… | /r/MensRights | 27/05/12 05:27 AM |

Blatant sexism toward men at Regal TheaterI've long stopped going to see movies. Since I could never get anybody to go with me, I'd end up looking like a rapist to everybody. I can't sit in an open seat next to a kid, since it's inappropriate. I can't sit in an open seat next to a woman, since she'll be clutching her purse the whole time. I can't sit next to a guy, because he's either either with a date he's got his hands all over, or the "bro code" is employed. | 2 | There ought to be a law against this.I think the situation is complete horse shit in the first place, and is an ethical travesty, but this is correct. If this is how they conduct their business, then they can feel free to fail. If I was a fan, this would seriously turn me off of them for the rest of their career (give it 5 years, tops). I highly urge anybody who notices this, or is bothered by the clear price gouging based upon their gender (or women who're concerned just the same), to not pay the money. | 0 | "Rape Culture"I'm going to back you up on this. For people who shoot from the hip with these discussions, it's impossible to walk into it with simple reasoning. Those who fall back on the, as you said, "emotionally satisfying" set of beliefs tend to be the first to simply talk louder and hope to advance in the argument. I had to learn this the hard way, being around my parents, and a lot of other people who operate in this way. | 2 | The Case of the Vanishing Black Male Teachers. Only 2% of the nation’s 4.8m teachers are black men. ~80% of public school teachers are female. To be fair, I play music for a living, and I'm seldom at any concerts where I'm not working. | 1 | The Case of the Vanishing Black Male Teachers. Only 2% of the nation’s 4.8m teachers are black men. ~80% of public school teachers are female.Good call on all accounts, but stating an average salary for teachers is a bit of an unfair account of what they'd be making. I can tell for you for a fact that teachers in Florida start at much less money than that. Not a lot of them reach the point they would've stuck it out through a lot of pay raises, either. It may be interesting to see data for teachers (and teacher applicants), state by state. I'd like to see a correlation between starting salary, number of applicants as a result (likely … | /r/MensRights | 28/04/12 05:12 AM
