This is a really interesting way to look at gender issues. What other way could the same person get a perspective of what it is to be both genders. Kind of backs up a lot of what I have experienced as a man in a very female dominated field. Not that it's all bad. But the double standards where women are free and often encouraged to talk badly about men while I need to tread pretty lightly just in case someone decides to get offended.

Exactly, when it's men talking about how to do X Y or Z in regards to women or dating women, they're looked upon as creeps or borderline criminal if they suggest the best way to get a woman's attention or how to use "pick up lines" or whatever it is that they do. Yet women can suggest lying to ruin someone's life, and its considered "empowering"... But don't you dare suggest otherwise or you're part of the patriarchy.

And they can't be called out of it because then men are sexist due to this false notion that women are at a general disadvantage when it comes to getting jobs, dispite the fact that no one can prove that. So what can you do as a man? Nothing. Just be quiet and take it. Which is supposedly what women are forced to do in the workplace. I've never ever seen evidence of that.

Is there any expectation for them to prove claims like this? I doing get why people hear things like this and accept it but then you're the bad guy for saying prove it. But then if you said life is becoming hard for men, you'd be forced to prove it and if you did, you'd be called alt right or something like that. I can't think of any other statement or area of study where a large group of people just accept things with no evidence, other than religion.

The "be a man" nonsense or "real men don't cry" BS is the single most harmful thought that society as a whole has put on men in the past 50-100 years or so. I think many of men's mental health issues can be traced back to this belief even today. I know in my own life, being able to allow myself to cry in front of people is one of the most liberating things ever. Crying is quite an insignificant thing in the grand scheme of life, but it is a analogous to the larger issue.

Especially with the MeToo stuff going on, I could definitely see a man saying some of the jokes or just comments that women regularly make about sex or whatever, and then that man get fired or have a harassment complaint if the wrong person hears it. Bottom line is, women talk and joke about the same things than men do, but they get a pass because how can a woman harass someone!

My last place of employment was like that. Everyone was talking behind everyone else's back. For some reason, it only seems to be women who care about that stuff. I'm sure people talked about me while I was working there, but I didn't really care. I was there to do a job and go home without hating people. Luckily now I also work in a female dominated atmosphere where I am the only male, but everyone seems to get along more or less, so it is possible!

That among other things. Not being taught how to be a man and deal with your own emotions in a healthy way I think is what this comes down to though. Not to say that just a father will fix all that, but when society and chastise men for crying or trying to get help with things like depression, we have issues like this because a child's mind sees it easier to just end life rather than risk ridicule from others. As someone who has divorced parents also, I fail to see what she means... Like a divorced dad might be fun sometimes but they're not really good at actually taking care of things like a mother is? Sure women can be more nurturing to a certain extent, but maybe the divorced dad is more fun because he desperately wants to create good memories with his kids and make up for past misdeeds. Issues that we're encouraged to "be strong" about and not complain about by society. Men can't even cry without worrying that other men will judge them as weak. Nothing has ever made me feel stronger than learning that I could cry without fear of "looking weak" or too feminine.

I think moving to Russia wouldn't be a great way to move yourself to an culture that aligns with what you believe. Seems a bit extreme. Unless you're rich. Russia has many other issues. You may even find yourself in a situation where your daughter and girlfriend/wife are treated as second class citizens. I'm assuming that equally is what you want rather than female supremacy. Instead, we praise single women who are about to have a child when they know for sure the father won't be in the picture they're "strong" but we forget to think about how having only 1 parent can affect a child's mental health. And bringing this up and saying that maybe it's irresponsible for a single 18 year old mother to be excited to bring a child into the world.
