My opinion is downvoted because I am speaking against the hive-mind of MR. The fact of the matter is if someone disagrees with the general consensus of men-as-victims in this forum they get downvoted to oblivion. I came here thinking perhaps it would be a good place to discuss men's issues, not bitch and moan about every little thing. In fact, I'm done. You guys and SRS are made for one another.

I do find it disturbing that it took the husband finding out for this case to move forward. The young boy had to know better and be willingly engaging in sexual activity as well as drug and alcohol use with this woman. It says a lot of bad things when a teenager finds this relationship to be okay. She should have known better and so should he. What a mess.

Everyone is free to be whomever they want to be. But that means you shouldn't insult men who like draperies and duvets (?). Personally, I can't change my oil, don't drink, don't smoke, enjoy art, don't know what a duvet is, enjoy videogames, I can cook, and a whole bunch of stuff. Basically, stereotypes are bad and need to go away.

Every time I see these things I am so conflicted. The woman will get a light sentence because we all know the boy must have consented (because that must be what all 14 year-old boys do). I am sure the boy on some level understood or desired the physical relationship, whether he knew better or not is inconsequential. It was a comment in reply to sorrytodisappoint. The scenarios all paint men as approaching "beautiful women" to comment on their appearance and hitting on them. Saying that men in these situations are, for lack of better words, trying to get laid by the beautiful woman and being jerks. It's the first news and so far it looks like one accuser and this man's face is plastered on the news. The point is we have no facts, we have no proof, all we have is an accusation and his name is slandered immediately by association. I think that in such cases it is presumptuous of media to always go on the attack with these cases which never point out the fact that he might be innocent.

I can really identify with this as I was raised the same way. My mom taught me to be a gentlemen, compassionate, and soft-hearted. My wife is not American, she comes from a much more traditional background with a hard life, so she doesn't understand why I'm not as aggressive as the men are where she's from. The problem is that any form of demographic identification can sway a potential employer. Color, race, creed, sex, etc. all affect the decision someone makes on whether or not to hire a person. A snake is a luxury and should hold not economic burden to the divorced wife. If a crime has been committed he would be tried and the outcome would determine what happens next. If he is found innocent he can sue the school and the girl in separate court cases for remediation. The school unjustly denied his right to an education and has potentially ruined his chances at getting into college.
