You can look at what is acceptable humor to gauge the level of bigotry in society. "Jokes" in the opposite light wouldn't be acceptable. Just as "jokes" and humor about hitting and raping men are considered to light-hearted as to not even be noticed most of the time, it's not that he is telling a joke that is the issue, it's that the content is deemed acceptable even coming from the President. Plus, after the joke he says that it is true, so he is making a pandering statement.

I am very much against it. It was done to me (without consent and for no good reason), but I didn't do it to my boy. I never thought about it until I had my own son and I had to decide; then I realized just how bad it is. Unless medically necessary (it usually isn't), if they want to be cut they can make that decision as an adult. The fact that most of them wouldn't is a testimony against the practice.

This worked a near-miracle for me. I honestly opened our marriage (with her approval) and our lives changed almost overnight. She saw I had options and after a couple years of agony instantly changed her behavior. I am happy being polyamorous; as a couple we have never been better. Then she got scared because she made this hulk of a man that could rip her in two mad, so she called the police and ran out the door with my sisters. My nieces have been in a very dangerous family situation their entire lives, and have been moved around, raped, molested, and repeatedly taken away from their mother. While they were in the foster care system in my own state, I attempted to adopt them. I jumped through all the hoops, did interviews, background checks, home inspections, but was ultimately denied because I was a single male. Had I been married at the time, I would have been approved.

Well, overall, I think the wage gap is only about 5%, and it is "unexplained", which doesn't necessarily mean it is caused by sexism. Overall, women earn less because they work less and choose fulfilling fields instead of what pays. I actually read that in their 20's women are tending to earn more than men. All of this is from memory. Others here I am sure have some sources for you.

The lack of recognition of this issue bothers me. I can't say that I've been raped, unless we were to use that term very generously, however I've been sexually assaulted or harassed many times. No one even sees it as a problem! If any of those experiences had been reversed (myself acting that way towards a female) I would be in prison. You've missed it. Rape jokes are only hilarious (see entertainment industry) if a male is the victim. Look at nearly any humorous scene in pop culture of someone being sexually assaulted or raped, and I bet the overwhelming majority of the "victims" are male. Reverse the genders, and it is no longer funny. Sexually mutilating a woman? Never funny. Chopping off a dude's member? Prime time humor. Cunt punch? Not funny, but kicking a man in the testicles is good humor, even for little children.

Worse, actually. Her and my sister called the next door neighbor (a cop) and told him I was threatening them with a bat (no idea where that came from). He came over, saw that it was just them being crazy and we discussed my taking care of his lawn while he was on vacation the following week. My mother did something similar to me, with my sister's help. I didn't even put my hands on her, just barred my door (they lost a remote control for a playstation and wrecked my room looking for it. I don't know why they think I had it, as I didn't even have a tv or anything in my room) and wouldn't let them enter.
