2	Why Young Men Aren't Growing Up So, I'm a bit of a newcomer to this sub. I live in a fairly left leaning city and rub elbows with people far more to the left than me. I'll be honest, though. A lot of the concerns I see in this sub I don't actually see when talking to real-life feminists. This disparity has me confused. Can you explain what you mean by the feminist merit system? 2	Why Young Men Aren't Growing Up The problem with a meritocracy is that, unless everyone agrees on what deserves merit, it is absolutely impossible to implement. For example, if you disagree with my value system and therefore don't earn merit in my meritocracy then, to you, it's not a meritocracy. -3	If women can't consent when they're drunk, and it's rape, then shouldn't it be illegal for women to drink alcohol? But the logic is backwards. In one case the person committing the crime is drunk and in the other case the victim is the crime is drunk. The two situations aren't analogous. 1	Why tf are there so many feminist trolls in this sub? I find it interesting that in my circles this form of harmful feminism is very rare. It does exist, but doesn't seem to stick around for very long. I hear a lot about harmful feminism online, though. My guess is that it gets disproportionate representation because it's sensational. There's also the possibility that it's mostly disingenuous trolls trying to create division. In beginning to think this more and more. 2	Why tf are there so many feminist trolls in this sub? I'm sorry you had to go through that. I went through a very similar abusive relationship where I was also labelled as the abuser. It's a very isolating experience. Fortunately my friends recognised I wasn't who she claimed. Like I said in another comment, the "asshole" trait is crosscutting. There are assholes in every demographic. We can't let them get in the way of people trying to coexist peacefully. And peaceful coexistence is ultimately what this group and feminists want. I think it's important to remember there are assholes in every demographic and we shouldn't blame groups en mass for the behaviour of a few bad actors.
