2	Alimony - How can a feminist justify it? My dad and mom had an understanding- he would provide for the family financially and she would provide for the family domestically. They worked equally hard. You keep implying work without financial compensation has no value. I take umbrage with this but it's been addressed elsewhere in the comments. For example, my mom married my dad in a context where she had few career opportunities as a woman and my mother and father jointly expected her to stay home to take care of the kids.
